I polished liscense plates. Should I be worried?

I usually rub some KAIO on the license plate or the AIO I`m using on the car paint.

Prior to layering on the KSG, right? :D Sorry, couldn`t resist, especially as I generally do use the Klasse Twins on my plates.

The back sides of Ohio plates have a really cheap galvanizing, takes a lot of good stuff to keep it from corroding if used during winter. Or at least our plates *used* to be like that, I haven`t gotten a new one since forever...

I haven`t had any KSG for quite a while. Klasse was the product that got me into this whole detailing world about 18 years ago. I still think KAIO is a great cleaner. I`ll usually wipe some RELOAD or something sprayable on top for a little additional protection.

DBAILEY- Yeah, I agree, the KAIO *is* a great paint cleaner! I just seem to need a lot more protection, hence my teasin` about topping it ;)

Polishing license plates, now that`s something!

I kind of like my approach, while not exactly legal I run license plate covers. I really only have to wipe the inside after winter.

Atleast in PA tags seem to have a a decent resistance to corrosion. Don`t think I`ve ever seen any that are corroded or chipped off. While you might think buildup would accumulate on the inside, it actually does not.

*Disclaimer*

I have gotten pulled over in Maryland twice for this, but not in Pa oddly...

Nizmo- Ah, yeah...I went with covers for a *long* time, then abruptly decided I no longer want them for some reason...just like seeing the bare plates. Kinda weird actually if I do say so myself; I`ve become kinda opinionated about it even :o

Maybe I got tired of seeing other people`s imperfectly maintained ones. And I did get tired of polishing/replacing them whenever they got marred or otherwise messed up.

Interesting that you don`t have to take yours off/apart to clean them. Other than some over-engineered ones that were basically hermetically sealed, all of mine got some [stuff] in there.
