I Owe Optibond an Apology

I wrote a review a few months ago about how i was really unimpressed with optibond. I decided to give it one more chance, this time I used a griots garage applicator and it turned out awesome. Really nice clean shine, I haven't driven it yet so i don't know about sling or durability. I'm not sure if it was the applicator that made the difference or what.

Don't know what was the issue the first time for you, but I'm happy you like it. I love the stuff--no sling for me. I'm still fiddling with which applicator I like better, but OB is a keeper for me.

I've got a ton of those Griot's applicators. The company one of my customers works for was making them and he gave me about 7-8 of the handles and about 150 or so pads. I go through around 4-5 pads a year so I'm set for the next 30 years. :)

I have an entire bottle of this, and I still prefer Adam's VRT over Optibond. I find it to have a much more even application.

Lol, I was the same was with OCW. Almost threw it out. Now its one of my favorite products.

We use it here at the shop all the time, and I find it to have a decent durability when compared to other water based dressings. We use the air compressor method to spray it on and then let it air dry. When it finally does dry it leaves an impressive shine. I find the same thing is true with Optimum Tire Shine. If you just spray it one evenly and then let it air dry, you get shine out of it that you would not expect.

The seceret with most water based dressings IMO, is to just spray it on and then let it dry on it's own (Do not spread or wipe). This of course means that you have to spray it on evenly and you have to allow enough time for it to dry. :)

Ive been using the Armor All tire gel and OptiBond off and on and I love the OptiBond. The Armor All gets incredibly dark after a few hours of application and the OptiBond stays looking the same as I applied it, a lot more natural. I like it a lot.
