I LOVE Ultimate Quik Detailer + Q about UQW

Even though I don't USE it as a quick detailer, rather as a drying aid. I just washed my car to get the inch of pollen of the paint and like I have done for the last several washes, I sprayed UQD onto the wet car before wiping it with my microfiber drying cloth. Not only does the UQD let the cloth absorb more water, any water not picked up by the cloth (not that there's very much at all) evaporates without leaving spots or streaks. Even in the hot sun (I dry from the top down, sunny sides first) with the temps in the high 70s, low 80s. And I love the way the car looks 'just waxed' when I'm done. People don't believe me when I tell them that all I did was wash the car.

Now the question about Ultimate Quik Wax. Can I use it as a drying aid like I do the UQD? Or is mixing water with the UQW not a good idea?

UQW is GREAT as a drying aid, many spray waxes are... Aquawax, Griots.

The drawback is, after time, your drying towel may start to loose absorbancy due to being saturated with wax. There are ways to remedy that.

pardon the newb question, what are those remedies for those towels?

For the Ult Quik Detailer, I just wash the MF cloths as normal and they work fine. With the Ult Quik Wax, I'm going to try just washing them as usual and make sure that cleans them up (they are marked with a permanent marker so I can tell which is which), but I don't think that either one UQW/UQD is concentrated enough-especially when diluted with water when used as a drying agent to cause issues.

*** Caution *** Serious Risk of scalding and burns.

you can "boil" your towels. Get a big pot of water to almost boiling. Using tongs, or whatever works for you, dip the towel in the water. Slosh it around a bit. Remove, and let it drip into the pot for as long as your arm can stand it, then toss it into a clean bucket with a grit guard. When the towel cools off enough to handle, wring it real good and repeat.

*** Warning *** Do not do the above procedure without protective provisions. Goggles, welding gloves, arm protection.

Over time. You'll eventually have issues. It may take 10 washes. Further, when I flood my paint, there's so little water on the paint that I, personally, don't have a lot of water mixed. Also, I spray the spray wax directly on the towel because I'm paranoid about dry contact. My issues might be worse than some folks.

I spray mine directly on the paint and I dampen the cloth before using it so there is no "dry" contact since the cloth is damp, the car is wet and the UQD is also on the paint.
