I just wanna cry...

I can't, simply can't win. Last weekend I spent two full days detailing the exterior of my black Camaro. Went at it with #2, Scratch X, and then the entire Zaino line. It was flawless and beautiful! I was so happy with the way it turned out, I never thought it would look so good and I did it all BY HAND to boot!

Then this weekend comes...

While outside, my grandma in all her wisdom decided that the bumper of my Camaro, my FULLY DETAILED Camaro, was the best place to park her lazy butt for a few minutes. Yeah, she sat, in JEANS, on my bumper which happened to also be covered in a layer of dust from a recent rain shower. Not only that, but when she decided to get up, she SLID off the bumper!!! SLID!!! ***!?!?!?!?!?! :shocked Now, my once perfect finish is now COVERED in not only swirls, but scratches that dig deep into the clear coat!! I just can't win. What was her responce when I confronted her about it? "Ohh, it'll buff right out." ***? That's not the point! I spend HOURS and HOURS perfecting this finish and because of some inconsiderate act I have to do the whole damned thing over again on the bumper! And she doenst even care...

I just can't win. Maybe I was meant to have a ****** finish because it seems everytime I get things right, it somehow or another gets ruined...

Thanks for listening to my rant...

Believe me itsnot just you. I often feels the same way. Although not as dishearting as your experience I felt the same way today. I spent all day detailing my wifes van today. it looked great. Used he Zaino prodcuts as well. We had to leave to go pick up our kids at my Moms house. As soon as we left we hit a brief down poor and then it cleared riht out. All thst work and now the car looks like hell. All the tire shine came rihght out, Road spray all over the car. It now needs a complete wash for a 2 minute rain. If we just left to go 15 minutes later!!

And believe me I have scratch and inconsiderate people stories too!!

Good luck with your bumper!!

After all, to all the other people we are the CRAZY ONES!!!:bounce

I just wonder how your grandmother would feel if you went into her house with mudcaked shoes after she finished washing the kitchen floor or having the carpet cleaned? What would be her reaction if you then proceeded to put those dirty boots up on the couch or on her glass table? I'll bet she'd be singing a different tune. :wall What would her response be to you saying "Oh, just call Stanley Steemer!"

I do feel your pain. We don't get no respect and you are damned if you do and damned if you don't. If you go out of your way to tell people to stay away from your car, don't lean on it, don't touch it, etc, etc., you are looked upon as some sort of irrational freak. But if you keep quiet then your car is subjected to abuse and inconsideration. :sosad

Maybe you sould have your grandmother buy you a PC as compensation. Sounds like a plan. ;)

My folks say I am stupid for detailing my truck every 3 days and that vehicles should only from point A to point B

Been there, done that. I know your horror story.

My mother is a school teacher. One day she borrowed my car to go to school. She comes home and places her giant bag on top of my car as well as her purse instead of placing them on the floor or leaving on the seat until she opens the door.

She grabs each bag, sliding them off the roof to carry inside.

You know the rest of the story.

:furious: :faint: :hairpull

It's like trying to get my dad to use MF's on the car after he has it washed instead of the cut up old bath towels the cleaning woman uses to clean the bathroom and kitchen.

My family drives me nuts sometimes too. For the most part they are considerate about not abusing the finish right after I spend 8-9 hours on it (BLACK LX470), but as soon as it starts to lose the awesome shine, like if it rains or something....it's right back to their old ways. I guess on my car....I dont like it if someone leans on it or something, but I know that they wont be there for long. :D Especially if I got new products to try.

I was getting ready to pull the engine in my '61 Comet last week. I had my daughter and her friend help me remove the hood. I wanted them to hold it while I unbolted it. While I was removing the bolts my daughter's friend said, "Hey, let's write our names in the dust".(on the hood) I didn't make a big deal of it because I'll be doing a full detail when I'm done. Point is, some people don't have any idea of the trauma that causes us.

This sounds too familiar.

I just removed some monster scratches using SFX from my neighbors Avalon...his wife sets a baby carrier on the back trunk lid all the time. She's changing her ways though.
