I hate winter.

Man, winter drives me insane! My car is filthy from all the salt on the roads, but it's too cold out to wash it by hand (no garage, plus I don't even have a hose hookup any more since I moved), and I'm too cheap to pay $10 as the gas station's brushless car wash for something I can do for free myself. Is anyone else going insane?

I can't wait till spring...or even a nice warm weekend.

After reading this thread http://autopia.org/forum/car-detailing/101360-no-rinse-wash-no-joke.html, I think I'm picking up some ONR next week. I haven't bought anything for my car in a while, and without having a hose hookup, I'll need some way to wash my car.

you're not the only one, i finally was able to wash last week as it hadn't been washed in close to a month! it's suppose to rain this saturday, and that's the only day i have some free time to do it, go figure...

Jeez.. it was 83 degrees today, but there's a cold front on the way and we'll be back in the 60's. I like cooler temps!

More than once I've used a bucket of warm water with ONR and washed my car outside when it was below freezing. If you start with a bucket of warm water, it isn't all that horrible to wash your car even in the 20s.

in these cooler temps, i fill and add a gallon of warm water from an water jug to the bucket so it isn't so darn cold!

On the weekends when I have time and it's above 20F, I'll fill the bucket with HOT water and ONR it. I just can't stand to go more than 2 weeks seeing my truck that filthy. I hate winter as well.

Shut up :angry

No need for you Southern boys to flaunt your warmth while there's a 1 ft of snow on the ground from a recent snowfall followed by a nice, stiff cold front (i.e. -15 degree windchills, centigrade of course)

:ca

Alberta clipper came through today, no that's not a sports team. At 2pm it was 29F two hours later it was -4F. Wind chill -40. Good thing it is only going to last a couple days. Notice i converted just for you southern boys.

i feel everyones pain as well. I absolutely cant stand this cold either while looking at a dirty car. I would go to the self wash place but the fact that it seems to snow EVERY DAY makes it worthless. Then i have noticed new swirls from piles of snow that have accumulated on the car melting and sliding down the hood and roof. I too have heard many good things about ONR, but i cant imagine rubbing the car with all the winter sand and dirt on the car. I am still very skeptical and would MAYBE use it in the summer time, but the winter, its just common sense that rubbing the car with huge sand and debris will scratch.

bah the worst part of this winter is the cyclic nature of the storms. I only have time to ONR-wash on the weekends, but when i check the weather forecast and we've got snow within 3 days. This has happened at least 4 or 5 times, and I've only got two ONR washes in the past 3 months! (Plus one spray-down at the coin-op... 2 days before a snowstorm).

Chicago weather is bumming me out. I haven't seen the black paint on my car in so long. However, I think I'll give it a shot tomorrow... 43 degrees. Too bad there's supposed to be 3+ inches of snow on Tuesday. =/

Go downhill skiing. If you're a speed addict like me skiing will make you enjoy winter. Except for the dirt on your car.

I live in Southern California but I spend one week a month in Chicago on business It sure is nice to experience both but I prefer the warm weather.:woot2:

So there I was out chipping away at the 8" of ice that is at the end of my driveway last night when my fiance comes out side to check on my progress...

"Who's shovel is that?"

"It's ours."

"Really? Are you sure?"

"Um.. Ya."

Keep in mind that we've had a record snowfall this winter in WI (80" and climbing) and I have been out shoveling just about every week since Christmas. :dig
