after i used meguiars gold class wax for the first time, i noticed i had white hazy build up on the surface of some of the black plastic exterior parts. i still have not found a way to completely remove them. what can i do or use??? for now i only have Mothers Back to Black. it works but its only a cover up, it only lasts till the next wash and it does not truely REMOVE the white haze. any help is greatly appreciated!

Try some creamy peanut butter. Put a dab on your hands, and rub it over the affected areas. Buff off the peanut butter residue with an old T-shirt or paper towel.

yea, ive heard peanut butter works, but i just didnt want to try caus i dont have any and i dont want my car smelling a little like peanuts... i guess ill have to try it some time when i buy a jar.

Or if you have (or know someone who has) try some Meguiar's #40 (?), vynl and rubber cleaner/conditioner/protectant....it works well.

yea ive tried that Meguiars vynl/rbuuer cleaner already but didnt help. i guess ill try wd40 first, then the peter pan peanut butter last since im pretty confident that will work.

My guess on why peanut butter works is because of the content of oil in it.

Which means that something like WD-40 should work also.

Have tried this and here is what you can do to find out for yourself.

If the oils in a product, peanut butter, WD-40 etc is actually removing the staining, and you wish to know if it is, do this.

After you are done, take some rubbing alcohol on a towel and clean the product off. It is did remove the stain, and you have removed the oils, the stain will be gone.

This may work in up to 50% of the cases where the part is stained, you may actually be able to remove the "residue", but then 50% of the time, the wax/sealant's solvents and other components have attacked the coating on the part and degraded it.

If after cleaning with the alcohol and the part looks the same, all that was done was just covering up and you might as well use Vasoline, motor oil etc.

If stained, then the part needs a new coating applied, not a "dressing" in order to have a true fix to the part.
