How's this procedure sound.....3M & Klasse

I read this regimen on another forum and then bought everything I need to do it. This will be my 1st detail using the PC7424 and it will be on a 1 month old GTI with red paint.

How's this sound....and then a couple questions at the end:

Wash the car first.
I'll hit the car first with some 3M Finesse-It on a polishing pad or a cutting pad if there is any lot rash or alot of the plastic adhesive on the car. This does a fine job of removing scratches, swirls, and any wax on the car. This preps the surface VERY well for wax to bond to the paint. (there are no scratches on my car, but a couple very lite swirls on the door.).

After I hit it with the 3M stuff I'll carefully go over the car with my hand and a good microfiber cloth from 3M looking for any rail dust or other contaminants on the paint. If there are any I clay bar the surface with a mothers clay bar and meguiars quick detailer until the contaminants are lifted. I'll then go over that surface again with the 3M Finesse-It to remove any scratches.

I then put on a softer polishing pad and use Klasse All-In-One Polish all over the car. I then use microfiber cloth to remove any excess polish from the paint

Finally, I apply Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze by hand to the entire car with a microfiber pad and removing it with a microfiber cloth. I'll re-apply a week later to ensure uniform coverage and a good barrier.

My Questions:

1-Will the 3m Finesse-It hurt my new car paint?
2-Am I being too ambitious for a 1st time user of the PC and these products?
3-Are these products difficult to remove by hand, and if so, can I substitue a MF or terry bonnet and use the PC for removal.

Any feedback or additional suggestions would be appreciated. This is my personal car, and I want it looking nice, but don't want to mess it up, either.
I'll then use the same regimen on my wife's new Forester-White. I also plan to maintain this between details with Poorboys S&G, or WG Deep Gloss Spritz Sealant.

Thanks All~!:D

For the most part that looks good. I would clay right away before your polishing though. Theres like a 98% chance that it'll need it no matter what. Haven't used the Finesse-it but as long as it is a light polish, go for it (probably polishing pad for the new paint). If you have troubles removing the 3M use a little less product or work it in for a longer period of time. As for the Klasse- A little goes a long way- Remember that. The AIO is very easy to use- you shouldn't have any issues with that. The SG, thats a different story. Maybe a search will be better than trying to explain. Make sure you apply very, very thin. You shouldn't be able to see a lot of the product when you apply it. You can either apply it to 1 panel and then wipe it off (WOWO) or apply it to the whole vehicle and then remove some hours after that (overnight). The time inbetween (20 mins-4+ hours) seems the hardest to remove. All in all you should be all set and have nothing to worry about. If you have any more questions, you know where to ask :)

Thanks again, Budman. I did a search on the SG, and there were some posts about it being much more difficult to remove than some other products. I reaaly appreciate your taking the time to respond to this. I'm gicing some thought to not using the SG, and instead using some PB EX or EX-P, which I also ordered. I might even give both a try on different parts of the car so I can get a feel for which I like using best. I hadn't thought about needing the clay step, though, so I'll consider that, too. I'll need to pick some up locally, as my orders have already shipped. Haven't used clay before, either, so that'll be something new, too. Does it take as long to clay as it does to paste wax?

Claying seems to me as a very quick and rewarding job. The first time I used it I was amazed how smooth the paint was after. Good idea of trying out the different sealants. That truely is the only way to find out which products you should/want to use. Either way, you won't be sorry for what you are doing.
