Hi Everyone-

I just got a pc and want to do a black Escalade.(Dads, I am sure some swirls)

Here is what I have in mind.

Wash + Clay

SSR 1 or 2.5 depending on swirls with white LC pad.

AIO with LC VC finishing pad

Pinnacle Souveran by hand.

I have KSG but don't think I have time to use it, becuase of curing time.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Steve

AIO + Carnauba = win!

AIO+ 16 on an '03 Silverado. I imagine using Souveran instead of #16 would be even deeper looking.

Sounds like a good plan. Personally I would apply at least one coat of SG before the Souveran for better protection and equivalent appearance. Sense you are spending a great deal of time prepping the surface a more durable protectant will make all that labor of love last longer. :xyxthumbs

SG cures in 24 hours so you can apply a quick coat of Souveran the next day or week. I can apply a LSP on my Escalade in about an hour at a leisurely pace.

I liked it better when you said

LMAO.....A little more metal now eh blk?

Heres a Escalade with #80, and UPP.......VM on horizontal surfaces....

I agree about the SG, I use about 3 layers on my BMW for the winter and the durability is amazing.

I was hoping to do this all in one day. I live about 100 miles from his house.

Any reason why VM on horizontals only and not the whole car?

I gave the horizontal surfaces VM treatment for the simple environmental/maintenance issues that are inherent with black. The hood is obviously looked at most by walker by's. We all look at the hood for obvious signs of scratches and swirls, depth, and clarity etc. It lacked a little pop on those surfaces. I was looking for the "wow" response, as opossed to the "that looks nice", and the "wow" was what I got. Heres a closer shot.....

Thats some depth and good clarity. Nice. I have a dark blue metallic clear coat. So ill try that. Is it safe on freshly painted or should i stick with #7 for a few weeks?

WOW - Nice. I miss my 1988 GT Dark Blue with Silver bottom. I loved the sound with H-Pipe and Flowmaster American Thunder. :xyxthumbs

Blah, typical Exhaust. It's all about Magnaflow :bow
