I am planning on only detailing for myself until I get really good ad it, and I am only doing all this research so my car can lookmint...

But once I get good enough I would like to start doing a few cars to help pay for my products, etc.

How do you go about starting to establish your detailing business, getting your name out, getting customers, etc...

Search this forum. There are a ton of threads about starting a business, how to get new customers, supplies and products you need, etc.

Just bear in mind when you start detailing for other people, you run across crap like this more often than you'd like.

Thats cool...love to see results.

Lucky for me, all they wanted me to do was wash the car. It belonged to a relative who was visiting and while I was washing their cars, they asked me to wash this nasty thing.

Start with family and friends. Put some flyers around in local stores and offices. That's just a couple of ideas. But as Scottwax said, definitely check around the board..there is alot of info out there!:xyxthumbs

I'm doing the same thing you are.

I got a vette and I have learned tons off this Autopia.. Aut leads to other places ...

I did my bos's dodge ram 9hrs, $100. It is pretty new. I am going to do a Lincoln LS for a $100 for a golfing buddy. I do it because I like to make cars look as good as can be and I take great pride in my work. I have an addictive personality so I keep cleaning my car. Every day. I love my Vette, I'm getting a Makita 9227c soon, I have the PC7424 and lottsa Meg's. $600 in products and tools.

When I get real good, I could feel OK about asking $250 or so for a fancy auto. Let's keep in touch. E-mail me if you want to.
