...Dreaming on an E92....
If you look closely you can kinda make out my sticker on the top of the front wing :rockon
This was in qualifying, our first race day of the season (well, for us at least, our engine builder took FOREVER to finish the new motor).) My brother took his warm-up lap, took the green, and as soon as he entered turns 1/2 he hit this MASSIVE rut that was there and bye-bye pretty new car. Mainly wing/front axle damage, but it did tweak the frame maybe 1/16"
"Man this car feels fast, I bet I'll get fast time!"
"Oh #$^#!!! This is gonna hurt bad!"
This way the one where he told us "I told myself 'Well, there goes the frame...' " See the side panel of the wing flying off a few feet from the car :wow:
"Dxxxxt, that's the wall isn't it"
"Yep, that's the wall... "
He came to rest after that. He said it's the first crash that's ever actually scared him. In the main event he started near the back and drove easy but still worked up about 6 spots. He pulled off just before lap 10 due to the engine getting way too hot. One of the radius rods for the front axle bent in when he flipped and bent the neck on the radiator, so we weren't getting enough water flow. But the good news is we finished 2nd in our wingless car last weekend. I'm not sure how he finished up last night, but hopefully he did alright.
