How to use the LGCM?

Hi, how is everybody?
Anyways, I bought the lgcm with the proheat and turbo brush. I should add in that the turbo brush is absolutely useless. I ended up paying 115 for mine because I added a 1 year replacement plan...basically, I have two years for it to break, and I get a brand new one scotch free.

So, I started by spraying 1 or 2 sprays of wolfgang carpet cleaner (I did not have time to try and make up my own mixture). I scubbed it, let it sit for about 5 minutes and then attempted to extract. At this point, I got a little frustrated. It took me about 2.5 hours to do 4 carpets, two of which I decided to spot clean. The soap and bubbles just never wanted to go away. I eventually gave up and let them dry to see what the results were. ~The fibers be came hard, but lacked soapy smell. So what am I doing wrong? How should I use my lgcm correctly?

Any help would be appreciated.

Your problem may be that you are not using a non-foaming carpet shampoo. Extractors of which your LGCM is, need non-foaming shampoo or the recovery tank will fill up with foam. The other products you use like pre-treatment sprays should be formulated to work with extractors too. The Wolfgang may be meant to be used stand alone so it has lots of foam to help it clean.

May want to give Adams Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner a try. I've had very good luck using it with my LGCM. I've also used Folex without a problem.

Thank you for the replies. Any idea where to get folex?
I guess the wolfgang is meant to be left in...Would a oxy-clean/apc mix be better?

You should be able to get Folex at your local Target. Its in the home products aisle with resolve, etc, rather than the automotive section. Its about $5, IIRC.

You can also buy a de foamer product. I think it costs about $15 for an 8lb. jar at top of the line. Also, for the very best products, you will want to go to jondon.com. They are an industrial cleaner distributor. They have awesome products. Get the Heavy Traffic cleaner. It may look expensive, but it dilutes something like 1part to a gallon, so it last a long time.

I am not having a problem with foam. Its the foam that wont come out of the carpet. jondon has some great stuff. I might use thier traffic lane cleaner vs a oxyclean mix. Thank you for pointing me to that site.
