How to use D151 correctly

I had previous success using Meguiars D151 on a 4 inch polishing pad. After checking my work in direct sunlight after using it a few weeks ago it seems that it leaves haziness and can't finish it down correctly. I'm using this with a PC and 4 inch white polishing pad on speed 3 to spread, 6 to polish, 1-2 passes on speed 4.

I've tried different methods, using pressure, light pressure, using speed 5, 6 all the way through polishing process and still can't get this to finish out correctly.

Any suggestions?

Try using it on a Finishing Pad. The Polishing Pad cuts, so that's most likely where your haziness it coming in. Make sure you work the product 2-4 passes then let it haze if you want the wax protection.

I was using it on a 4 inch white polishing pad. I was hoping to use it for correction on light marring. All it did was leave haziness and buffer trails with a PC. It was strange, I used the PC countless times with many products and never seen anything like this.

Finish was washed ,clayed and clean. I tried everything and 151 did not work well. I shook the bottled plenty.

Any other suggestions? Also its time for me to replace my old 6.5 inch sonus pads. I have plenty of 4 inch orange and white pads. Think I should switch down to 5.5 inch pads? White and gray/black? I was also looking at green.

Also, 151 likes some pressure. Try a softer finishing pad like previously mentioned and use some pressure on the first couple passes and then lighten up on your final passes.

Seems like some people have success using D151 to remove imperfections and finish out perfectly without switching pads. I wonder what their results would have been on black paint.

I will try using it on a softer finishing pad and try dropping my speed and a little more pressure. I hate to relieve this to being used by hand and just a cleaner wax as others have had success using it for polishing, defect removal and finishing. I was initially using it on a 4 inch white polish pad speed 5 and then tried 6. I could get this to finish down with different amounts of pressure, etc.

My process was speed 3 spread, 2-3 passes speed 5/6 and finish a pass or two with light pressure on speed 4.

Any more input I want this polish to work!

Hmm I have had really good results with 151. I spread at 1 on an orange pad and worked on speed 5 long enough to let the abrasives break down. The finish came out perfectly I didn't even have to use a finishing pad.

I've had problems like this before using Poliseal, but it was because I was using too aggressive of a pad (for the pace I was taking) and not properly breaking down the product. I was pretty impressed with myself that I made what looked like holograms with a PC. Ha!

Well I'm not a newb to the polishing game and have worked on many cars with many products on many pads.

D151 on black is a pain to get a correct process on how to use correctly. I was using a 4 inch white polishing pad, then a 6 inch sfx white polish pad that I use with FPII to finish down to a flawless finish.

Again, I tried every method I could think of before I reached for something else.

SO.....how about anybody who has used this on black paint that actually finished out correctly and checked their work in direct sunlight. What was your process?
