How to remove soda stains in headliner? (Chrysler minivan)

Hey dudes-

I did a search on cleaning headliners. Most of the results discuss general cleaning, using APC on a MF, being careful not to get it too moist, etc.

Is there a way to attack a specific stain on a headliner? Looks like it might be from soda or hot chocolate or something. The stain is a dark splatter about the size of a dime.

Thanks in advance.

Justin,

Use a carpet/upholstery cleaner on it. The trick is to use a towel to soak up the stain. Don't let the cleaner soak too long or soak it too much, it could just cause the stain to spread deeper. I's spray a little bit of cleaner on it, pat it down with a clean and dry towel and repeat as needed.

Soda is water based, so all you will need is a mild water based cleaner, and then pat dry with a microfiber towel

But wouldn't the sugars/corn syrup in the soda make it more difficult to remove and require something a little stronger like APC and/or upholstery cleaner?

Yes! Hot water will work the best . Use a terry towel , blot and rub very lightly. Do not soak. Be careful.
