how to know what pads to use?

I'm sure there is a thread already on this so If you know where it is at could you send me the link as a reply? But if there is no thread on this then great!



There are so many buffing pads out there and I really want to start understanding all of their different uses so could someone give me a little explanation of all these pad colors? I use a 6" DA

Start with the manufacturer and go from there as they all have their own color pads that are for different things. One company's orange pad may be for cutting and anothers orange pad may be for finishing, so that's important to keep track of. There's a chart describing pads around here somewhere ...
