How to get wax residue off plastic trimmings?

How do i get wax residue off my plastic trimming? I already used back to black and it didn't really didn't do much. I also have another question, are absorbers safe to use to dry the car, it seems a bit rough but it dries so much better than my meguiars drying towel.
 
To remove the wax staining..try a magic eraser and APC and gently rub the area..or get some 3m wax and adhesive remover and wipe it on and scrub with a toothbrush...or get a product called wax eraser..and there is another product from Hi temp thats good Tar and wax remover from top of the line .com



The Absorber is not bad...does pick up water..but do not drag it over the paint...more or less blot the paint...A good WW is better in regards it absorbs and less chance of marring...



The absorber can trap a grit in the material and if you drag it it can mar the paint..if you blot they work good...

Never tried it myself, but I've heard Peanut butter works very well. Spread onto affected area, leave to dwell for a while and wipe off. Presumably it's the peanut oil does the job.
 
The peanut butter is usually only a temporary fix until the oil evaporates or washes away.



Poorboys trim restore works, as does wax blaster.



AL-53's suggestions are also very good.

I've heard the peanut butter trick mentioned on here a million times, but I've also heard that peanut butter ONLY covers the wax stains up temporarily. This is one of those myths that I would like to see get stickied.

I dunno. Think about it, if it possible to wash the peanut butter gunk off of a knife or a spoon or whatever you are eating off of when you are done using it, then why wouldn't it be posible to wash it off of your tirm with the same dish detergent?



I pretreated the trim stain with peanut butter, wiped it off, washed the area with dawn, then preceeded to wash the rest of the car. The stain never came back. I dont understand why people would think it only covers the stain up.
 
Wax Blaster is a product specifically designed to remove residue from textured plastic: Wax Blaster Wax Remover



Unfortunately, I can't give a first-hand review . . . I have some Wax Blaster on hand, but haven't needed to use it yet.

The old AtoZ wheel cleaner worked better than anything I've ever tried on plastic trim. That includes things like peanut butter, WD40, Magic Eraser, plastic trim treatments, etc.
 
Wax Blaster works, DG has a version of it too - haven't tried it but it's in the same type of shoe polish looking bottle and DG products have always worked for me.
