how to apply fmj?

i have seen some people apply fmj by hand and others with a pc with a polishing pad or glazing pad. why dont people apply it with a finishing pad (red from lake county)?

There's no written rule for using any pad/product combo. Try anything you want, if it works, then it's right. Detailing is all about trial and error.

No problem, sorry it wasn't a more complete answer for you. The bottom line is, if the pad is too fine, you will be there forever trying to produce the proper results. On the other hand, if all goes well, and you like the finished product, then you just found yourself a perfect combo.
