How often do you purchase products?

Porkanbeans

O RLY?
Just wanted to take an inventory of how regularly you guys buy stuff online. And most of the time, are purchases fueled by a need for a product or just an impulse to buy something? What do you see yourself having to replenish/keep buying the most?

Oh yeah, one more thing. How do you hide the credit card bills from your significant other? ;)

I buy products sometimes just because I think they would make my life easier. Case-in-point, the Pinnacle Polishin Pal. It's a huge time-saver for me and it does a better job than a normal foam app. Plus it never slips out of my hand.

I go through QD pretty fast. Some people bring me their cars just to have them washed and QD'd. And I use S&G on my car every few days so I run out kinda fast. I recently bought a gallon of it though, so I should be OK for a while. :)

I really stocked up on everything I needed last year, but the urge to buy everything "new" was strong. I withheld though :) Hiding the bills was alot easier that hiding the actual product..

She saw my empire of products and towels once last year:argue !! Not fun.. But she is over it now as long as her truck looks good 365 days a year:xyxthumbs

Im glad you posted this because I ran out of clay last weekend and Im really low on VM !!

I have enought detailing products to do my car for the next five years and I'm still ordering more. I believe it's the need to try new products looking for that perfect look, perfects shine.

So far I have found a couple of products I don't like and lots of products I do. As much as I tell myself that I have more products

than I need I still tend to order more.

My spuse just got tired of asking me about the visits from UPS and tells her friends that I'm nuts. LOL

Too often.

I enjoy sampling new products. I have enough stuff sitting in the basment to last several life times...I end up throwing stuff away 'cause it gets old or turned out to be total garbage. OTOH, I have stumbled across a few items that have been a big surprise and pleasure! :up

just ask PakShak. ;):D

i probably buy from him at least once a month. sometimes it's a need, sometimes it's a desire. i don't like to be caught out of a product, so if i can, i try to big the biggest size PakShak carries, especially for products i think i am going to use a lot, like his MF Cleaner and revitalizer, S&W, SSR 2.5 polish. SS&S Car Wash.

and i'm single and live at home, so i don't have to worry about the spouse. although to hide it from my mom, i just put it away with my other stash of products, so unless she's really paying attention, she couldn't tell if i got more stuff.

I'm usually fueled by the need to replace one product like QD, vinyl protectant, then since I am getting something I decide to try something new. Its kind of addicting to see if something else will work better. I usually send the stuff to my office so the wife don't see it, and I take care of the bills anyway. However she thinks I'm crazy anyway as I have one cabinet decicated to products and she says I thought you only need soap and wax. Goes to show you how much she cares about cars.

Answer: Wayyyyyyyyy to often...Its like an obsession trust me. Someone posts pics of "Hey I just used Product XXX". Next thing you know your like...WOW..gotta have that too (even though you have similar products that do the same thing lolol) :D

I guess its what being an Autopian is all about. The quest to achieve "The Perfect Shine"

I buy detailing stuff on as as needed basis If a good deal comes up, I jump on it.

As far as hiding the bills from the wife/lover/significant other....

Wifey gets to buy what she wants ( within reason, of course), so when I decide to make a purchase, there really isn't any problem, as it is almost always a "quid pro quo"!

When you start sending Christmas cards to your U.P.S., FedEx, and USP delivery boys/gals, your buying too much......

Other then that, Im like the rest, I have enough detailing products to take care of everone who drives in my town.....

Be fiscally responsible!

I buy too much too!!!!

I haven't bought anything lately, I'm trying to calm the obsession. There are too many products that do the same thing. I'm trying to become a little more selective and am taking the time to research most products. Its hard for me not to impulse buy. I am waiting for the new Zainio Cleaner polish to come out and then it's going to be a big Z order!!!:bounce

Yeah, its tough not to buy everything from every company!

I set a $50-60 limit per month for detailing supplies. I have far too many as it is and the $50-60 limit allows me to try a few new products every month.

If I go a week without ordering something, its rare. Two weeks ago, I had a package a day for each of the 5 days (2 of which were trades though). Granted, I do 2-4 details a week, plus my own cars, but on top of that, I like to experiment. I need to start buying stuff in bulk, I tend to buy 16-32oz bottles cause I dont like to drop 300+ dollars in one shot, but it'd save me a lot to buy by the gallon for proven products that I use a lot of.

These dayz I try to curb my spending and keep it only to necessity. The problem is, if I need just 1 or 2 items.....I end up making use of the empty space in the cart. :p Just got an Autogeek order today :D and a Zaino order a few weeks ago, but before that I was able to go a few months. The free shipping deals and discounts are hard to pass up.

I buy when I read enough about a product to become interested. I buy again when I discover that I need an additional product to have optimal results. I buy again when I want to be able to apply remove the product with the best detail tool.... I do not have to hide my credit card, I use debit....I just bought some Menzerna PO85RD because Menzerna makes great diminishing polishes .... I heard about this "new One". I am going to buy the PO85RD3.01 because I hear it works in tandem with the PO85RD, when it becomes available.... I am hopeless... the worst thing is, I dont have enough time to use everything I have enough..... My house has more visits from UPS than some stores....

At first I bought like no other, but after totalling all the expenses, it hurts! Now I buy whenever I really need products and try to only use 25% of my profit.

As and when I need them. Probably buy something everyweek! About once a month I do reasonable sized order once a month to stock up, or try new things.

In the last few years I've built a massive arsenal of "high end" detailing products for no other reason other than just to try some new and different stuff. I like variety, what can I say! (lol) My passion for detailing coupled with the info obtained from Guru Reports/ Autopia site has put a major dent in my wallet, that's for sure. It's good, clean fun & I'm not going hungry from my purchases. I'm one of those once a month purchasers. For instance, last month, I purchased a gallon of CG Butter Wet Wax & a gallon of CG Sealant w/nuba. Both of which for personal use/consumption. Did I need a gallon of this stuff? Hell No! (l0l) I just had to have it. A couple of weeks ago I had to take advantage of the DP sale so I ordered up some Max Wax. Once again, just to have it! I do like good value for my dollar, and I guess that's the primary reason why I purchase so much. 6 weeks ago, AutoZone had Meg's #26 for 99 cents.........had to buy 8 cans. A little while back, Autopia had Souveran on sale......I bought a can because of the sale just to keep my other can of Souveran company. I now just realized, as I sit here, that I guess I purchase stuff more than once a month. I think I need to see a Doctor! Now I'm waiting for the new Zaino Cleaner/Polish to become available. Is there a support group for us here? Something like "Waxaholics anonymous"? My name is Serwaxalot.......& I'm a Waxaholic!! (lol)
