How often do you AW?

On Sunday, I tried DG AW the first time on both rides. Process seemed quite easy, and didn't really add much time to normal drying. Since then, it's rained all week. Today, while looking at my car, I'm amazed at the flake pop. Is this possible just from spray wax? On my car, the AW was topped over Megs #26. I didn't notice the flake pop from 26 alone.

How often do you guys use AW on daily drivers: every time you wash, or once/month, etc.? If you start with a good finish, one would think you good easily go from Spring to Fall just using AW as a topper every so often? The answer will help me decide how much AW to buy while it's on sale:)

I use AW as often as I can, and yes AW does makes the flakes really pop, probably much more so than #26. I typically use it after every wash, and it really keeps the car looking great.

Stock up on it while you can! You can't go wrong, and it adds real protection, durability, and gloss to the car.

Thanks guys! I didn't know if there was such a thing as "too much" or "too often". It's very easy to spritz each panel while drying.

What do you mean by while you can!? I love it and don't won't to be w/o it. I've heard from AL-53 (big DG man) that it works better if you use it about once a month and use Fast Clean and Shine in between.

the Chemist at DG told me that to use it more as a monthly thing as it layers and can mute eventually...they said to use the Fast Clean and Shine for in between usages...same effects but not as concentrated as AW.. There was a person on another forum who does show vettes..he asked the same question as he found it was muting his black from weekly usage,,,

here is part of his post

I called Duragloss today and talked to BILL I wanted to know what I should do if I get enough AW on that it Begin's to mute the color. He said that if that happens just use straight FC&S a few times and it will level out the AW. Bill is a chemist and he told me the two are compatible. He said just don't mix 951 with 601 the bottle may blow up.LOL

Because it's currently on sale at CQ for about $4.99 a bottle...normally sells for about $7-8 a bottle! :D

Honestly, as much as I use AW, I haven't really noticed any muting effects. All I can see is that the car looks fantastic in the sun (has a wonderful glow about it), and nearly cleans itself in the rain! I guess it could create a build up of layers, but I haven't noticed that it affected my finish negatively.

I use AW after every wash, which is every 2-3 weeks.. For the price, you could pretty much use it as a QD...

i use AW after every wash...typically once per week.

i just thought of something someone should try with AW: boil it down to evaporate the water and make it super concentrated...mwuahahahaha!

I already had a gallon of AW and decided to pick up a gallon of FC&S. I'm still unsure where to fit FC&S into my detailing regimen since it costs almost as much as AW and I don't really QD since my car is parked outside 24/7. Mainly my use for both products will be after a wash.

I've used it once every two weeks and I've used it once every three months...it depends I guess. I haven't seen any major loss in looks to warrant using it after every wash or hell even every couple months.

Even at three months it still looked great.
