how much wax is sufficient to give a car a good coat....i put a minimal amount ( just enough to cover the certain secition, but no more) on my pc and then work it in....I have heard that i shouldn't put too much wax on becuase it harder to come off, but im hoping that the amount i put on is doing the job?? any ideas>?

Sounds like that's about right. Using a liquid, I don't use more than an ounce per vehicle, usually. Some waxes/sealants spread better than others, so I may use only 1/2 an ounce and still get good coverage. When using a paste, I usually can't even see that I've taken anything out of the can until I've done about 3 cars.
You are right about the "more isn't better" plan. It just leaves more to wipe off.

You said you "work it in" - are you referring to a cleaner wax? I usually just apply/wipe on my lsp's, since they don't do any cleaning. I have, however, heard of the "spit-shining" method, where you would need to work it in. I tend to use more wax if I'm using a cleaner wax than a "pure" lsp, just because I'm trying to polish too.

For a carnuaba wax, I put it on so you can't see it and follow up with another coat either right away or the next day. If you don't have any problems removing it, or buildup on your towel when you remove it- I think your doing fine. Actually, I do the same for LSPs too.
