How much Iron X for one vehicle

Getting ready to get our vehicles clean after this brutal Canadian winter, & planning on using Iron X as an initial decontaminant step for the first time (i.e. before claying, polishing, etc.) Just curious how far this stuff goes? Most places sell it in 500mL or 1L bottles...how far will one of the smaller 500mL bottles go? We have two smallish SUVs - an Acura MDX & Audi SQ5. Since I'll hopefully only be doing this once or twice a year, I don't want to buy too much. Thanks.

I would recommend at least 1L to do both cars. You will probably use @ 500mL on each car being smaller SUV's. I use about 3/4 of 500mL bottle on midsize sedans when I do the entire vehicle. You might also want to consider the paste. One 500mL bottle of that might do both cars.

It really depends on how much iron contamination you have and how "heavy-handed" you are while applying. When I first used Iron-X I used almost an entire 500ml bottle per vehicle. But since then I can now do 2-3 vehicles per 500ml bottle if they are maintain well.

I now tend to spray a light coating of Iron-X all over then use a wash mitt or towel to spread it around. If I see any heavily contaminated areas I can then apply more Iron-X as needed.

+1 to what Troy said. Although for the small price difference I would get the 1L so you can have extra wheel cleaner for later use.

Great question. I always wondered if I was using way too much but now I know I use about the same as everyone else.

+2, spreading it around helps the product go to wrk as well as save you a few bucks
