How many take the wheels off to clean them?

When detailing cars and trucks for clients, I usually take off the wheels so I can clean them better. What do you all do? How many remove the wheels. My big hands can't get in between and behind many of the wheel's spokes to clean the parts that show.

An air compressor would make my jobs go that much faster!

Sometimes I throw cars on the hoist we use for undercoating, and give the wheels a blast from the inside and spin em a few times to make sure I get it all...It's rare that I actually do this because it takes a bit of time to line the car up and toss it in the air...

I don't take the wheels off unless a customer requests it. The only I time I usually take the wheels off is if I'm show prepping a car.

I don't detail for money, but I take the wheels off only when I do tire rotations. During that time, I clean and wax the insides of the wheels.

Same.

On my car, you can't really see into the wheel far enough to make it worth the time to remove and clean them.

I do it on my own cars a couple of times per year. I don't think I'd do it on someone else's car unless they requested...think future liability....

not a pro but on may cars I will clean them good when I have the tires off

for a rotation, changing to snow tires, summer tires, slicks ect...

I clean them when taking them off - rotation, winter swap over, brake fluid change. I don't take them off to clean them.

I take 'em off as often as necessary to keep the back sides nice and clean (also the brake/suspension components that the wheels block access to), which isn't all that often as I can usually reach through (using tools if not my hands) or get to them from the back with the vehcile jacked up.

I don't take 'em off the Blazer though, hey, it's a beater; I bought it so I'd have one vehicle that I wouldn't have to pamper (by my definition ;) ).

I'd think pros would have to give thought to a lot of issues. They'd better at least discuss it with the customer first.

On my daily car, whenever it gets brake work it gets the wheels inside cleaned. On my toy car, I clean them every time I wash the car because ZR1 style wheels ain't hard to clean.
