How Many Gallons.......

Of water does it take to wash an average size 4door car using the 2BM?

The reason I ask it I am considering a CR Spotless System and I want to know how often I will be running through cartrages.

Also for anyone with experience with CR spotless units:
1. Are you happy with it?
2. Which one do you own and how many car washes can you get from the refills?
3. Has anyone rigged up an easy way to by pass the system when using the hose for other than OCD car washing?

Thanks

As far a how many gallons I am not sure but I'm sure we can get a good guess.

But for me I would see using the CR spotless as only the final rinse as that is the one that your really need it and the one that counts.

I'd use it to fill my bucket for rinseless washes and a final rinse only on normal washes too. I can't really see a need to use it though the whole wash process other than to fill the buckets

I found if you use a pressure washer you will use less water because it cleans better plus they use less water (most electrics rated at 2 GPM or less).

You really have to know how much water comes out of the hose. I have a whole house water softener so I can barely get 3 GPM while others will get 4 to 5GPM minimum. I know a fire hose nozzle likes 4 to 5 GPM / 60 psi or better.

I also tend to rinse less.

Non-pressure wash (thinking out as I write)
1. 3 buckets of water (paint, rinse, wheel): 8 gallons
2. wheels - 5 gallons
3. rinsing initial - 1 min: 3 gallons
4. 3 rinses during: 9 gallons
5. sheet rinse: 3 gallons
6. clean up (mitts, buckets, brushes): 5 gallons

Total: Max 33 gallons.

bathroom break: 1.6 gallons not included

I will think about this some more. The pressure would cut it down by 5 gallons or so.
