hi all,

ive heard that zaino is really good and long lasting(6months). since zaino last pretty long, how many coats do you have to apply on you car? would two coats be good enough? three coats? etc.etc.

thanks for the inputs.

It all depends on the condition of your car's paint.

My cars have really good paint and here's what I do twice per year.

3M Swirl Mark Remover
Zaino Z5 (1 coat)
Zaino Z2 (1 coat)
Zaino Z6 (QD spray)

The whole process only takes a few hours. Saturday morning job.

You can actually add as many layers of Z2 as you want. Sometimes I do 2. Also, I think the Z5 gives it a little more depth....

I was amazed at the difference the first time I used Zaino.

I did this today.....

I don't bother with Z5. I do my best to properly prepare a flawless surface when doing Z details. After that I think how you said it, two coats "is good enough", but to me three is the ideal number. Four or more is going overboard, and I don't think it's recommended in one day when using ZFX. Use the new Z2Pro with ZFX for the best results and do 3 coats for optimal Winter protection.

I always do 3 initial coats.......

You will get 6 months, however I can never wait that long before getting the itch to slap another coat on.

Nice finish Luster. It looks like the hood was just painted 5 seconds ago...so wet and glossy!

I have over 20 coats of Z2PRO and IMHO I have a shine second to none it really makes my torch red mustang stand out from the croud. as for durability Ishould be good until may 2006 thats if I don't detail it until may.

Durability doesn't really matter too much to me. I wouldn't go a full year without claying my car and polishing out swirls anyway. If the product gets you 3 or 4 months of durability then that is all that really matters. You will likely need to do other paint care duties before your sealant wears off anyway. Don't try to get a year out of your sealant if it means having a super shiney swirled IFO bed. lol

I usually do 3 ZFX'd coats the first day, then 3 more another day.

6 coats easily got me through a 4-5 month winter with a vehicle driven daily, kept outdoors 24-7.

Furthermore, my girlfriend's Pathfinder had 1 coat of Z5 on it and lasted through the winter the same. It wasn't quite as slick/beads weren't as tight towards the end, but it was still protecting.

how many of u guys actually like the look of zaino in person? ive seen it a lot online but is the stigma true of it being super shiney but no depth? i wanna try it soon.

I LOVED the look on my old Harvest Gold Ranger and my wifes Red Expedition.

I have used it and IMO looked outstanding on silvers and whites.

I'm not a big fan of it on certian colors. It is wetter looking than Klasse, but still kind of plasticy looking on yellows and lighter colors like that. I think just about anything will look good on red and Zaino is no exception. It looks great on Black and dark blue too. It's once the colors start to get lighter that I start to not like it as much. I'd use it on dark cars though. For years it was the only thing that graced the surface of my smoooth lady magnet camaro. :naughtyD
