How long to wait after repaint for ceramic/PPF?

My car gets out of the shop next week. The rear bumper and trunk were just repainted.

I want to get the car recoated with 8yr ceramic and also PPF.

What do you guys recommend for the paint? Can I do it now or should I wait until the spring? The shop said they do have a bake booth they used for those parts.

If I do it in January the shop has winter specials so it’s about 20% off.

Even with baked paint, I wait until it finishes outgassing. No, I don't know how long that will take as it varies based on many variables.

Frustrating answer, huh?!? Sorry..

I generally plan to wait at least 90 days, and I use Optimum Car Wax until I think it's OK to use my regular LSPs. The OCW is fresh-(re)paint-safe (verified by Ford) and provides UV protection.

If you can smell the paint when you put your face very close to it, it is still drying from the inside out... What kind of paint did they use ???

Not sure. I can’t smell anything on the paint.

I’ll just wait anyway I rather just clean the car up and store it. Worry about it in the spring.

If you can touch it, you can polish, seal, wax and/or coat it. Waiting period was a guide for lacquer paint finishes decades ago. I’ve been coating fresh paint (a few days old) for nearly 2 decades without any issues. Anything different is just opinion based on fear and misinformation and not research and experimentation. If a product isn’t safe for fresh paint, it’s not safe for cured paint and you shouldn’t be using it.
