How long does it take you to wash a mid size SUV?? I wash and dry it all by myself so it's a one man job everytime. It took me nearly two and a half hour just to wash and dry a Acura MDX . I even use the CWB and I'm still so slow!! Not sure if I'm taking too long, how long does it take you??

2 1/2 hrs???

I used to be a car washer in the body shop at a local car dealership and after a few months of working there, I was washing/drying mid size CARS in about 25 minutes. Since I worked at a GM dealership, I saw a lot of Blazers and Suburbans. The Blazers would usually take me about 35 minutes, and a Suburban might take me close to an hour.

This included washing the wheels and tires, and wiping out the door jambs as well.

Oh. So maybe I am taking too long :D. I don't know why :nixweiss, even if I wash and dry as fast as I can it takes me at least 2 hours :o. I guess I'm too careful?? :nixweiss

I wouldnt be too concerned, at the end of the day it isnt a race, and unless your a pro extra time doesnt cost you money.

Take your time, do it carefully and make sure you are very thorough ( ie door jambs - the lot! ). The more you do it, the more routine it becomes and the faster you'll get. I was taking about an hour for a family sized sedan which I can now do in 20 or so minutes.

But as for machine polishing....well thats a new ball game for me so its a slow process at the moment!

2 1/2 hours is nothing! The first time I washed my 4Runner, it took me 6 hours! I'm probably a bit more picky and thorough than most people though. It only took me 4 hours this past Saturday.

In the end, it's not about how fast you can get it done, but how well of a job you do on it. I'm sure a lot of people can do a great job in a small amount of time. If I can't do a job that I'll be happy with (which takes me a lot of time), I won't do it.

Took me 40 Minutes to do my 2001 4Runner ... that was wash/dry' do door jams, dress tires, wipe the interior and go over the windows with a towel. And that was with an Absorber .. I had no MF then. MF is faster for me.

Talk about the Absorber, do you think it's as good as WW?? How big is it??

Stick with the WW .. I have 6 Absorbers .. while they are way better than a chamouis .. they are no MF or WW. And the Absorber need wringing out during drying.

I still occasionally use the Absorber to pre dry the car by holding it by 2 corners and draging it over the car as I do a walk around. And then I throw it up on the roof and drag it off to pull off the water.

Zellers has the Absorber for $19.95 $9 in Wal-Mart in the US

If you use QEW it will DRASTICALLY shorten the wash/dry process time. I used it for the first time this weekend and could not believe how....well.....quick and easy it was!!!:D

1 hr 10 minutes on average......Thats just tires, rims, wash/ dry....

No windows or dressings....

It takes me about 2hrs to do a thorough wash & dry of my GX470. It includes wheels, wells, drying between seams, door jams.... Usually I go with this approach when the truck is really dirty and I'm going to follow it up with wax.

When its not too dirty and I wash it in a single pass, it takes me about 1hr and 15mins to do the same job.
