How long before I can polish new paint?

I just got my car back from the paint shop about 3 weeks ago, and the swirls they loft on my hood are killing me!!! How long must I wait before I can polish them out? Thanks!

You can polish them out straight away, you just don't want to wax or seal the paint for at least another week though.

05Sleeper- Is this the same car you're taking to Texas? No wax/sealant on the repainted parts for 2-3 months. The Spies-Hecker paint takes a while to finish outgassing, mine took three months the last time they shot anything on the S8 (near the engine so I could smell the outgassing due to the heat from the engine).

Yeah, you can polish right now, but remember to use a polish that does *not* contain wax/sealant. And note that the paint will be a little softer than normal until it's finished curing.

While it's curing, I use Meg's #5. Very user-friendly but you gotta redo it after every wash. Much nicer than the 3M IHG that some people use for this IMO.

Accumulator: same car, but I need to put something on it as the wind and sand storms in Texas will kill the paint...

I have been using #7 on it lately, but I don't really see anything special...

I will polish it up with some FP II.

I am almost tempted to go the Zaino route as Sal insists that it is ok to use 10 days after the car has been painted.

Any more help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
