How I carry my polishers (product pics)

I get alot of comments from folks when they see me drag out this black case.

It holds my Cyclo, Metabo and my DeWalt. It is pretty tough, seems to hold up well in wet weather and it protects and keeps my polishers out of sight.

Yeah I got the case from "The Container Store". It cost about $60 plus another $15 or so for the packing stuff.

There are actual cutouts in the bottom foam piece so that my polishers sorta "custom" fit into their slots.

For any Pinnacle fans out there...the two half gallons you see are OLD SCHOOL:D They no longer make the Glass Polish and the other container is the long gone "Window Tint Cleaner". I am hoping they are worth money soon!

If anyone wants a really kick-a** case, check out Pelican Case. I have a few for diving equipment. Totally bombproof (almost). Their warranty (and I'm serious), covers everything except 'shark attack and children under 5'.

You can get pick & pluck foam in them so you can customize it to hold anything securely.

On the topic of your products, how have the Menzerna wheel and QD done? Shoot we know that's not all your products!

lookin nice, yeah i thought those pinnacle products were old school. ;) are those 8" pads Edge pads or LC?

Im hoping this weather clears up pretty soon.

Anthony,

I noticed the Johnson's Baby Shampoo. Is that for the car, the pads or for you after a day's work? ;)

I just got those sent to me today from Top of the Line. I have not yet had the chance to try them but as soon as this weather, like Jay mentions, clears up I will get right on it :)

They are all LC pads. Mostly 7.5 with a few 6's and I think two very old 8's.

Sunday looks like a good day.

LOL:D I figured someone woul dask about that. The J&J is my "slip" solution for when we apply Xpel clear bras.

The case needs a "top secret" or "for professional use only" sticker. Nice product collection!

Nice setup there Anthony!:D

Sorry to get off topic, but what do you think of the Menzerna 7.5 wheel cleaner?

Yeah my partner Ron and I joke that if a cars is bad that means I have to "open the black case and just opening it is an extra $150!" :D

Not at all off topic but as of yet I have not had the chance to try the Menzerna QD nor the wheel cleaner. Just got them delivered to me today. Hope to try them tomorrow.

Thanks,

Anthony

Anthony, just curious why the Metabo and the DeWalt. Does the DeWalt have some advantages over the Metabo? Thanks.

The Metabo I like to set up as my final polish/finishing machine. It is very light and very easy to manuever across the paint.

The DeWalt I like to set up for heavy cutting and mild polishing as I am able to "feather" the rpm's via the variable trigger. The Metabo basically has an on/off switch but is also variable in speed choice, from 700 rpm's to 2500. I usually do my final buffing at about 1200 to 1400 with either Optimum Polish or FPII and a blue LC pad.

The DeWalt has more torque at lower rpm's. So each has a strength where the other has a weakness so they make a nice balance.

Anthony,

Sounds like you're using the Metabo as a "bridge" in between the Cyclo and Dewalt rotary; therefore no PC, mildest is Cyclo, then Metabo then Dewalt?

Well perhaps not so much a "bridge" because it can be a nice stand alone rotary but perhaps better said a "finesse" machine.

Because it is lighter and more easily handled than most rotaries it becomes more of an extension of your own hands....if that makes any sense:nixweiss

Take care,

Detailers Paradise sells the Porter-Cable Storage Case ($30 last time I checked)

Anthony- nice case / set-up for tools. Reminds me of when an Architect goes out of town on a project he carries a case and charges fees billed as 'a consultant'...
