How has gas prices / economy affected business?

Just like the title reads. How has the gas prices / economy as of late, affected business?

I'm busier than ever! In a good or bad economy, there will always be a market for detailers.

We are also very busy. We had a slow couple of months when the economy tanked and nobody was spending money, but we are back to steady busy every day.

I know if gas wasn't so expensive, I would have some extra cash to take my truck to Barry Theal to get cleaned up...but a crew cab f250 that was only run through the scratch & swirl by the previous owner wouldn't be a cheap detail. At least its white so it hides some stuff until I have time and warm weather to work on it. :buffing:

you gotta love that though bryan...I love working on black porsche paint!

gas prices only really are affecting ME, in the fact that it costs more for me to drive to someones house to detail their car. other than that, I dont think people are NOT getting a car detailed just because gas went up a total of $20/month with the $0.20 price increase or whatever it is.

Same here... calls/emails come in daily and March is already fully booked for me. I'll probably have to go full-time soon with some up and coming business opportunities, as opposed to detailing 2-4 days/week.

Off Topic... John, what light is used in the video on your home page? The 10w light? I'm more than happy with the few lights that I have, but you know how it goes... always on the search for something bigger and better :biggrin1:

Ivan, that is a light used for technical scuba diving. It is very similar to a 3M Sun Gun as far as performance goes.

i'm still coming out of winter so i'm just chalking it up to that. It's progressively gotten busier though since mid feb.

We had a 2nd unusually cold and snowy winter (by Dallas standards) in a row so the first half of February was awful. Ever since we jumped straight into spring, my phone and e-mail are blowing up. :)
