Used the Dallas server...I have a Comcast 6 mbps connection.

Last Result:

Download Speed: 19334 kbps (2416.8 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 347 kbps (43.4 KB/sec transfer rate)

When I had dial-up, I was lucky to get 3.75 KB/sec

This is more normal though...

Download Speed: 9945 kbps (1243.1 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 344 kbps (43 KB/sec transfer rate)

Download Speed: 4108 kbps (513.5 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 351 kbps (43.9 KB/sec transfer rate)

I have Comcast....

I have Adelphia

Local Server...

Last Result:

Download Speed: 1457 kbps (182.1 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 778 kbps (97.3 KB/sec transfer rate)

Last Result:

Download Speed: 1973 kbps (246.6 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 690 kbps (86.3 KB/sec transfer rate)

Across the country...

Last Result:

Download Speed: 1386 kbps (173.3 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 549 kbps (68.6 KB/sec transfer rate)

Last Result:

Download Speed: 1507 kbps (188.4 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 576 kbps (72 KB/sec transfer rate)

Comcast Broadband/Nashville, TN - Atlanta Server

Last Result:

Download Speed: 6200 kbps (775 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 360 kbps (45 KB/sec transfer rate)

This is a fairly common result for me. I'm glad I'm getting what I pay for. Scott, your speeds seem unbelievably high for only having a 6Mbps connection!

Every one I tried, I was higher than the Comcast average. I do know that 8 mbps is available, maybe it is automatically upgraded?

Geez, my download speed seems slower than most of you. That's even with a "local" server. Dang Adelphia!

Craig, replace "most" with "all" and that statement will be true.:D:D

I have RoadRunner from Time Warner, when using the Chicago Test....

Last Result:

Download Speed: 4772 kbps (596.5 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 347 kbps (43.4 KB/sec transfer rate)

was gonna test the work comp but it wont work because they've adjusted the activex controls to block flash (out of the three hospital locations and over a thousand comps i think they did this just for my computer only, lol)

Download Speed: 2881 kbps (360.1 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 239 kbps (29.9 KB/sec transfer rate)

Atl server. I am on charter 3 mbps service.

RoadRunner with Time Warner here, via the Atlanta test:

Download Speed: 4814 kbps (601.8 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 360 kbps (45 KB/sec transfer rate)

Hit it 3X and these were typical for all 3.

Guess I'm lucky too in that my service is pretty reliable.

Comcast (I think it's supposed to be 4Mbps down, but I can't remember for sure), ran it using the Seattle test.

Ran 3 times

Download Speed: 5127 kbps (640.9 KB/sec transfer rate)

Download Speed: 4697 kbps (587.1 KB/sec transfer rate)

Download Speed: 5805 kbps (725.6 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 352 kbps (44 KB/sec transfer rate) - Exactly the same every time.

This test seems pretty liberal on the results. Realistically I see about 15% less speed than I got with this:

Last Result:

Download Speed: 5821 kbps (727.6 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 770 kbps (96.3 KB/sec transfer rate)

This is Rogers Cable in downtown Toronto. Luckily for us (I guess) Canada has a pretty competitive high speed market, so speeds are generally higher for less money.

Scott - when I had Concast in the Bay Area I had a similat thing going on for awhile (10mb download) while they were moving from 3mb service to 6mb service. As soon as the upgrade was complete I went back down to 6mb though.

Just this morning:

Download Speed: 2061 kbps (257.6 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 784 kbps (98 KB/sec transfer rate)

Still crappy though!

I guess you fellers aren't having this intermittent problem that many of us Comcrap users are experiencing. It's fast when it works, but it cuts out all the time. Many threads here: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/comcast

Setec: That is something common in certain parts of Chicago. I was working on someone's computer some time ago and Comcast's connection dropped for a staggering 2 hours.
