How does this kit sound?

Well, I'm on my second car, and the paint is in a bit worse condition then my first, so I decided to hook up with someone online, and get myself a whole bunch of supplies so that I could really take care of my car, which will probably turn into taking care of my moms Solara, and my dads Durango too. Here is the list of what I am getting:

Meguiars Quik Claykit

Klasse All-In-One

Klasse Sealant Glaze

Meguiar's NXT tech wash

2x Meguiar's Ultimate Wipe

Sheepskin Mit

Poorboy's Big Blue Waffle Weave Towel

4x Meguiars hand applicator

1x Poorboy's Super Thick and Plush

1x Mega Plush

2x Terry Cloth Towel

4x Shop Towel

It seems to be a pretty good set of products too me, what about everyone else, and what kind of value would you put on this?

If by "and the paint is in a bit worse condition then my first", you mean it has swirls or scratches, then there's nothing on your list to take them out.

The Klasse All-In-One will take care of oxidation, but if you have swirls or scratches you'll need a polish to take them out.

Post back if you need to correct some paint problems other than oxidation for some suggestions. Also, I guess you're doing this by hand and not a PC?

Klass AIO will remove smalll scratches and swirls if used by hand, but considersing your are looking into investing in a porter cable you will have much greater results when applied by machine. I actually consulted with a few business contacts in the industry rearding weither the AIO would be able to act as a swirl remover, even on dark cars. All of my contacts agreed AIO would be enough to remove small scratches and a great portion of the swirling. If something more abrasive is needed a coat of DACP can be applied (mentioned below) or a Poorboy's World Super Swirl Remover (#2.5 or #2 followed by the AIO would be great)

That is what I was told in an e-mail from the person I am buying everything from...

Also, all I am doing is getting stuff for the paint, not wheels/interior/glass or anything yet.

I fully agree with the last two posts, and would like to add to what BlackRegal just said. I agree to get all microfiber, but I would take it a step farther and say to only get microfiber waffle weaves. I use them for everything, drying, polishing, door jams, glass, etc. Just get an assortment of sizes and weights. I like the Sonus Der Wunder blue towel best for drying since it's a bit thicker than most, which makes drying extremely easy. For everything else I use the Sonus Ultimate Detailing Towels but these are comparable to most others.

I wouldn't go WW on everything there are towels that do a better job at buffing, Qd'ing, and I wouldn't mess them up in dirty work as they are a bit expensive.

Klasse AIo is great for oxidation, but it will not remove any scratches. I have not been able to remove any swirling either, but it is fantastic for oxidation. :D

I don't agree. WW's IMO are the only way to go for buffing and qd'ing. I originally bought plush mf's, cocours buffing towels, and pretty much everything else and I got better results with the ww's than any of them. The only time I use plush towels is for final wipedowns, but never buffing, it takes too much work.

Wow, opposite for me, plush towels for everything but drying, then WW hands down.....

Your yellow towels are perfect for QEW washing. :xyxthumbs

UnsanePyro You should add a good swirl remover like Meguiars #80 Speed Glaze to your list and maybe a carnauba paste to try on top of SG, like Meguiars #16 or Poorboy's Nattys Paste.

Scott, do you use those for actual washing or drying afterwards ?

I did my real, first QEW today, then put a quick coat of AIO on. Im impressed with QEW and 2 buckets, and 2 sheepskin WM, then a 24x32 WW...! All in about a 1/2 hr .

I use a chenille covered foam pad for washing, a terry cloth towel for the initial drying pass (making sure some moisture is left behind) and a final drying pass with a microfiber towel.

QEW is a real timesaver!
