how do you remove tag from MF towels without damaging

Any advise on how to do this without cutting the binding thread which would cause the edge to unravel.
 
I carry a knife with me that is pretty sharp. It has a partial serrated blade on it and that makes short work of tags. Usually I just use some scissors on em when I first get them. Tearing them works too if you want to really get it all off, but that usually helps start the fraying that you are trying to avoid. Like Kaiz said, sometimes you can get lucky though. :)
 
Kinda had to describe how I do it. I lay the tag on the edge of my desk and then pull it so I've got as much of the tag on the desk and the towel is pulled right up against the edge. I then cut the tag off with a straight razor blade.
 
Thanks. Obviously one could just tear or cut off the bulk of the tag though it still leaves a short tag edge that potentially could scratch if not folded out of the way when drying. To remove the whole tag you would in some way have to pull it out of the stitching without ripping the stitching which would cause it to fray.
 
way back when they used to easier to tear off, now, not so much



actually I gave a towel to my uncle for x-mas and he cut it up using a little square for his glasses. it shocked me a bit, but then realized it wasn't freying, hmmm



well anyways, I have been known to tear it off and cut off the serging thread that comes out when you do that



probably the most correct way is to pull and cut at the holes and then pull that little piece out that is left behind.
