I had my fender repainted and it was full of orange peel so I decided to wetsand with 2000 -> 2500.



I followed up with m#105 on my pc 7424 with PFW 6.5''



I did about 3 passes and got rid of 90% of the marks left by wetsanding.



My question to you all is when should you move on from your most aggressive to next step polish?



I'm not sure whether I should be working the panel until I can achieve 100% correction or to leave it at (x)% correction free and then to move on to the next polish.
 
blackludebosh- I don't move on to the next step until the task *calls* for that milder step.



In this case, if M105 isn't solving the problem I wouldn't move on to something milder; M105 usually leaves things *very* nice, requiring only a mild follow-up, which would be *too* mild to correct any of the residual sanding scratches.



Interesting that M105 X 3 hasn't leveled the 2500 scratches :think: Oh, just noticed that you're using a 6.5" PFW pad on a PC, that probably explains it. I only use *3.5"* PFW via PC. Any pads larger than 4" just don't do efficient/effective correction for me via PC.



With any luck, you won't overthin the clear by the time you resolve the sanding scratches. Hope you were using Nikken/Meguiar's (or Mirka) paper ;)
