How do you guys apply Meguiars Endurance Tire Gel?

I bought Meguiars Endurance Gel a while ago, and I definitely like it a lot. However, I haven't been able to find a time saving method to apply the gel. I'm currently using toothbrushes to apply it to the tires. Saves a lot of product and helps me get into crevices and such, but it is very time consuming. It takes about 35 minutes to do all four tires. How do you guys apply the Endurance gel?

I get applicators at advance auto for around $1..

Ive also found that Megs ASD works out great. I like it just as good if not better than Endurance. It not as shiny either..

Do you guys find it hard to apply the gel? The gel consistency seems to be very thick to be applied evenly with a simple foam applicator.

I find that it doesn't go on as evenly at first as say the All Season Dressing, but if it's not even you keep swiping it around the tire until it's even looking.

I'm thinking maybe the problem you're having are with the raised areas like letters, designs, etc? For me, those type of tires are a bit more difficult to apply a dressing on using an applicator.

I dilute in 1:1 in a spray bottle and it's perfect for me! It goes on nice and light....nice coverage and isn't all thick and clingy on everything else. Works like a charm!!

Try about a 4-inch nylon bristle paint brush. No waste, gets into all the nooks and crannies. There was a fairly long post about this, with pictures, last year. Do a search - it's exactly what you are looking for. Same thing as you are doing with the toothbrush, but a ton faster.

I had the same problem as you... I also use the generic tire swipe from the auto store, but before I apply the gel, I spray on AA Tire Foam then immediately wipe it off.

Then the gel seems to go on much better and not "run out" so quickly.

Ah, yes. I remember hearing somebody that diluted their gel. I may try that..

I wouldn't dilute a gel.....but, that's just me.

I use meguires Endurance Gel all the time and it doesn't take any longer than five minutes to do all four tires. I use old white socks. Apply the gel lightly and buff off any excess. A little goes a long way after the sock gets saturated. The gel also lasts longer than most tire dressings I've tried.

I hesitated diluting it as well just because of the "gel" properties but it works out a lot better for me. It hasn't altered it's ability to stick to where it's supposed to either. It may be affected it wear life but not by much from what I can see.

AA foam and the others really make a good base coat for other dressings. I love using the foam then putting All Season on top w/ a MF mitt that I keep in a plastic bag to remain wet w/ the tire shine.

no problems here...

I use to use this gel with a tire swipe it came with in a box(or go to the .99cents store or to your local hardware/auto chain store).....

but it very messy....

and it'll last longer then water base products but it attracts dirt and gunk to your tire so i no longer use this whether on my personal or cleints vehicle....
