I normally use EO Tire Swipes for my tires (which are not low profile tires)...but I was washign my father's car (2004 Infiniti G35) last weekend and he has 18" Dumani wheels with low-pro tire. I noticed that the tire swipe was a little hard to use when trying to dress the bottom protion of the tire. Basically, the swipe kept hitting the ground and getting dirty.

What do you guys use to dress low-pro tires???

Take one of those EO swipes and cut it in half :bigups

If you like spraying a dressing directly on the tire and then swiping I found a pump type cooking oil spray bottle from Wal Mart to be great, the spray goes on the tire, not all over.

You can cut the tire swipe in half if you want.

I also use regular round foam applicators, one for water-based, one for solvent based. I toss them after a few uses.

My tires I currently run are 205/40/16 which are pretty low profile, but I also have a set of 215/35/18's which are really low profile. So far, the applicators have provided the best results.

I use Poorboys Trim Restore and a foam pad. Kind of messes up the pad so I use an older one and then re-use it again and again. I let stand for a while then buff to keep from sling

I guess we were typing at the same time!! :)

AWD-- I do that too but largely for reaching parts on the backs :D of the tires I can't reach with the swipe

I like that idea about using the cooking oil sprayer I have a couple of those. Seems like it will not cause sling all over the place

Nice thing about those tire swipes is that you can get a 3 pack Dollar Tree version, cut them in half and wind up with 6 for a dollar and they work just as well! :D :bigups

I use this dressing applicator I picked-up at TOL on 225/45/17's

http://www.topoftheline.com/tire-dressing-applicator.html

spray the dressing on the applicator, hold on to the "suicide knob" & go around the tire a couple times. Works especially good on tires with a textured sidewall (not smooth) that tend to grab tire dressing and hold on to it for future slinging.

the applicator surface is similar to the paint applicators with styrofoam handles & clean-up is quick and easy.

I once got a 2 pack from the $$ store and both fell apart after a few uses. They were JUNK. I am trying EO right now.

Why not move the car a few feet so the bottom is now the top.

I did use the EO swipes now I finally found a tire dress I love and I just spray it on and leave it alone.

Yeah....now THAT's Thinking outside the box!! :drunk

That's what I do....kind of a pita to move the car to dress the tires, but C'est la vie!

Actually, it's the BEST way to do it.....b/c you can't really get all the tire you want to dress with that part being down toward the pavement.....doesn't matter WHAT you use to dress it.

Yeah, especially when you doing the backs of the tires, but I just reach with the foam paint brush.
