How do I polish after I waxed?

I put on Meguiar's Show Car Glaze and then a layer of High Tech Yellow Paste Wax. I still see swirls so I want to go back this time with a Porter Cable 7424. Now that there's wax, can I use the show car glaze still? I also have some Meguiar's Swirl Remover. Is that like a cleanser and would remove the wax? I'm also wondering if Meguiar's Cutting Pad is appropriate with the Meguiar's Swirl Remover. Thanks.

Some Options ...

Welcome to the forum!

First, what color is the car?

With regards to your question, there are many options. Here is what I use "in general."

My preference:
i. Wash the car with a touch of Dawn to remove all wax and polish (You may choose other methods to remove the wax like a Paint Clean as in Step vi.)
ii. Start with Meguiars #9 with the cutting pad and the PC
iii. If above does not work, go back with the Meguiars Dual Action Cleaner Polish with a polishing pad (or cutting pad if you are comfortable)
iv. Repeat iii or ii until satisified.
v. If you used the DACP, go back and use a polishing pad with the #9 to prep the paint for a polish or cleaner
vi. Prep the paint using a cleaner, Klasse All In One, Platinum Paint Cleaner, or the Meguiars 3 step cleaner (I use this step to get rid of any residue.) You can use a polishing pad and the PC here as well if needed.
vii. Wax with your choice of products.
vii. Lather rinse ... repeat .....

As with all advice, choose the products which work best for you or most available. I find the Megs ScratchX to be okay for small spots, but not as good at the DACP or #9 (for lighter marks).

I hope you are able to get the car to the point you like it.
