how do I match paint?

my car hasnt been painted in 20 years or so,red has faded to alight red almost orange

I am trying to touch up the nicks, but the otc colors are not matching. any ideas??

You will never achieve even close to 90 percentile color matching due to the surrounding aged paint. You would have to buy "pre-aged touch up paint" for it to match, and of course, this isn't possible. You could polish the surrounding areas to remove the oxidation for a better match, though.
 
why is so important for you to match your touch up. From what you said the paint is in pretty bad shape so you have more important things to worry about.
 
Find a paint shop that does color matching. Not all of them do. If you’re lucky you can find a shop with an ace paint matching dude. They’re a rare breed.



It won’t be cheap.
