How cold is...

I've been lurking around this forum for a few months. I have Used klausse AIO and SG x5. I like the protection but.. my car seemed darker but less shiny when I used Gold Class. Zaino Seems to give the shine I want. Now my question is can I put Zaino on top of the Klausse with good results? Because If I can I will keep layering SG untill I run out and step up to zaino. Also If I can do this which Z products do I need to get? I have a DARK Emerald Green Honda Accord (I still have people saying "I though your car was black" after they seen it dozens of times). It really seems like the car isn't as dark as it was before. I will have pics soon too.

Thanks

No, you cannot put Zaino over Klasse. You will have to strip off the Klasse, and then start over with Zaino. To strip the Klasse you can use a 50/50 solution of Alcohol and water, or an abrasive like 3M SMR.

thanks... I thought since Zaino is a wax I could put it on top.. maybe I shoud just throw some of that Blitz wax on?

sorry If I offended anyone:p I just know more about klausee then Zaino but I don't have a preference since I haven't tried Z yet.

Actually, it has more to do with getting facts straight. We want to make sure that newbies know the facts and that incorrect info is not spread around here. A person who said that Charisma towels are great microfiber towels would get the same quick correction here from me and others. We pride ourselves on being true car car enthusiasts and try to preach the truth here. Just like someone saying that Bimmers are Beemers. You will get a quick correction here. No malice is intended though. Laters.

So Will my car appear darker after I put blitz on it?

I agree with stopping of false information. I stand corrected on the zaino issue. Thanks

To create the prefect shine using klasse All in One and High Gloss Sealant Glaze. I discovered this amazing technique from CMA and it works so well that I wish I could do this all week long. To improve the gloss in your car, first give it a good wash, then dry the car so it is completely dry. Put a quarter size of All in One on your app- or bonnet. The less you use the better. Do one panel at a time. When you have completed applying the All in One go straight to the High Gloss Sealent Glaze. Again, remeber less is better. When your finished with the High Gloss Sealent Glaze you are done for the day. You have just laid a hard shell of polish and wax. Let your car cure for at least 12 hours! 24 hrs. is better because your car can adjust to the prducts. Now it's time to apply the wax. I suggest Pinnacle Souveran Wax because there is nothing else like it on earth. The wax has high quality enriched ingredients that will bring out the beauty of your car. If you really want to give your car the look and feel of a million dollar paint job, clay your car after you wash, then rewash and start with the Klasse products. Trust me, I do this to all of my cars and I tell all my neighbors and I have never received any negative feedback. NOTE: If you are getting wax marks on your car, you are not hurting the paint job! When you do see them you are just applying too much wax. Take care and happy detailing. ~WF

Hehe! You are the 2nd person in the last two years who has brought this up. Its just an internet thing. I use this expression solely here or throug personal emails. It's kind of my trademark expression. I, surely, know the correct way of speaking and writing/typing. Just like someone may say, "See you or see ya." I reserve this expression for friends and I certainly have quite a few good friends on this board.

Derek, I reread one of your posts and I would concur that you should definitely try a carnauba topper over your Klasse. Most people here do this and love the results. A carnauba topper will give you that little extra something that you may be looking for. For your color of car, I would recommend one of these 3 carnauba waxes: One Grand Blitz, P21 carnauba wax or if you don't mind spending the $69 Pinnacle Souveran. The Souveran is easily the best wax that I've ever used. It is very pricey though. Hope this helps. Laters.

Ok guys I know this will start a conflict but should I

A) Add more SG then Grand Blitz

B) Add more SG then P21

C) just Get Zaino

Just add more SG then top with Blitz or P21S(some people like P21S better because it does not leave a white residue on black trim like Blitz does). Or keeping adding more SG and never top it with a wax.

Derek, you already have 5 coats of Klasse Sealant Glaze on. After this number, you are going to get some diminishing returns buddy. If you like you could use another coat or two. It's prbably NOT needed though as 5 is plenty. Now the way you describe your situation, you're looking for something extra. That little extra thing would be a carnauba topper. A carnauba topper WILL improve the overall finish and look of your vehicle. The P21 is a good one. It will give you a tiny bit more shine than Blitz. The Blitz will give you some more shine than Klasse alone but will give you outstanding depth. The Souveran will give you the best of both worlds. Its up to you. You are not going to go wrong with either route.

What I would suggest to you is to try the carnauba topper. You already have the Klasse Sealant Glaze layers on. It would be a shame to strip everything and start over. You would also have to buy quite a few new products. So try the carnauba topper and if after 2 coats of this wax and you're not happy, then maybe give the Zaino a try. Hope this helps. Laters.

try the carnauba topper. Really made me happy when I did it. Even on lighter colored cars.

I think Klasse offers a shine layer, and the carnauba for that deep liquid look.

I have not heard one bad thing about P21S yet.

Give it a try and keep us posted.

hey thanks everyone.. this is one of the few forums with no B.S. You guys are the real deal. I will post before and after wax klause pics (just bought a new digicam)

Great! I would be very interested in seeing pics with and without the carnauba topper. You will like the results of the carnauba on top. Laters.

too cold to polish?:chillpill:

I was going to do my truck this afternoon and the temp outside was 34 with the wind chill knocking it down to 24 degrees. I couldn't put it in the garage cuz there's another car in there.

I think I remember seeing a Menzerna chart with a temperature "operating range" and it only went down to 45? I could be wrong.

So, where does one draw the line in regards to low temps and polish?

Thanks in advance!:)

I've polished down to 40*, but 34 w/24 windchill is pretty dang cold!:banghead:

I'm not sure just how much heat is required to break down the polish so it can do it's work.

During temps like that, I'll move one of the Vettes out in the driveway and polish in the garage which is usually between 50 and 55* in the winter. No problems in that temp range!

34/24 is to cold to properly polish a car. Yes it can be done, but you are going to be so distacted by the cold, I don't feel anyone is going to be putting out there best work and you are more likely to make a mistake/burn thru :Frosty:

If you can catch a day when the temp is in the 40's and you have lots of sun/ no northerly winds your golden. Its actually ideal weather IMPO < for whatever thats worth :o

Thanks Bill, thanks Flash... yeah, I just need to wait for a better day. Luckily it's not usually too bad here in the winter.

I appreciate the input, thanks again!
