How can I tell when my sealant is fading?

with so much maintenance and spray waxing my car is always shiny, beading and all around show car condition.

However its been well over three months since I did the Klasse AIO and EXP treatment and my car is always parked outside.

Should I strip everything on the basis of time alone?

Is there any way to tell when teh sealant has kicked it and the paint is getting

by on waxes alone?

hmm...

p.s.

Optimum No-Rinse is better than Ipods and chocolate ice cream.

By constantly adding products which boost protection, your sealant is going to last a long time. If/When beading stops, it's past time to reapply.

that's what I figured but I thought only a sealant type spritz could do anything more than boost the life of the sealant. And with the exception of FX 100 (AFAI), Most spray waxes like Optimum, Aqua Wax, boost reflection only? No real paint protection occuring there.

Hardly, OCW and AW offer true protection. With a base sealant and regular maintence with OCW or AW your sealant would last indefinitely.

If you use Aquawax frequently enough, you should still be going strong, because Aquawax does have a lot of additional protection. If it's not beading, slick or looking good, then strip. I have gotten nearly 4 months out of Meguair's Gold Class using a Sonus QD which extends wax life. EX-P should still be good.

Even over time, with the use of QD's, unless they have U.V. inhibitors (OSW), your base protection will fail. Its Mother Natures way of keeping you in check. Even pure Nubas dont carry U.V. inhibitors unless they're added. I haven't used the Aqua Wax, so i dont know anything about it, or its protective characteristics.

As Wanna said, use a true protectant, for true protection.

I tend to agree the Sun will eventually break down everything. I think the paint can still bead even with your sealant having kicked the bucket. You are eseentially just living off your glazes/waxes.

There must be a way to tell. A difference in the appearance of the shine?

Might be a placebo effect but It always seems to me that the shine a few days after letting the sealant cure and topping with a glaze is always greater than the shine after a wash and quick spray wax. Even with claying.
