How can I get (candle) wax out of carpet?

I'm detailing a car later this week and there was a candle in the back that melted due to being too close to the vent. It is in the carpet now. How do you recommend I get it out? I was thinking heating it with a heat gun or something like that. Thanks in advance.....

Ice it down and scrape it out. Any remaining residue should come out with a little Goo Gone. Works with gum too.

I've heard you can place a brown paper sack over the wax and then iron it like you would a shirt. Supposedly the wax melts and gets absorbed by the bag. Let us know how it goes!

Also can use canned air they use for cleaning computers .. give it a blast and it freezes it and then chip it out.. wear gloves .. and good for gum also

Riley,

You can use a similar process with a hair dryer and a piece of cotton cloth. The heat from the hair dryer allow the wax to melt and be absorbed into the cloth. This also works with gum too.
