Ok so i was checking out a site and buying some Meg's products brushes and a couple towels and i stumbled across this Honeycomb Bug Sponge. Now i have heard of these before but never given them a second thought so i decide that for 1.99 i would get one and check it out. So i get my order yesterday and open up the package and pull out the bug sponge and this thing is hard and rough and I think to myself there is no way in heck i am using this on my paint. Especially on my truck. So i decide i should at least see what happens when i get it wet like you are suppose to, I spray it with some QD and then get it wet with hot water and it softens up a bit but i still tam very leery of using. So i decide to use the wifes car as my tester. I am sure she was thrilled with that. So i go out to the car and check in and area of the hood that is pretty well shot from rock chips and such considering the car is almost 20 years old. I begin to rub it across some bugs fearing the worst, well to my surprise the bug sponge glides across the surface and begins taking the bugs off. So i am like hey this is pretty cool now let me dry the are and spray some S&W on it and see what happens if it left any marring or scratches. Low and behold nothing present. So i am excited to see it works and does not scratch. Sorry no pictures. O I also ordered the Meg's Wheel Brush man do i like this thing very big and sturdy unlike a lot of other wheel brushes and very soft.

Here are links to both the sponge and the brush.

That is the same as the pnnicale one yes on black paint you will have some marring so I wouldn't use it on anything your not going to polish out..

But it does work great for tar and buggs

I have one of the wheel brushes. I really like it.

My wheels have small holes that other brushes just can't seem to get into. The other brushes I've used wind up bending and the bristles are too stiff. They just fold over. This one actually gets the nooks and crannies scrubbed.

I understand your skeptisim. I remember when the distributor showed it to me and suggested I give it a shot on a dark Volvo we were working on at the time. I remember it vividly, he was telling me who was using it in the area and that it won't effect the paint. You could imagine my response - 'Yeah right'. Well he said he would leave it with me at no charge, suggesting I give it a shot and if I like it, I could pay for it on his next visit. Naturally, once he left I got on the phone and called my friend down the road who supposedly was using it. Bob, say go for it with no fear. It does exactly what the distributor says it will. Well I tried it and you are absolutely right, it works! We don't use it all the time, but we do still use it. Ours is quite a bit bigger though.
