Honda generators?

I'm looking to purchase a Honda generator for my mobile business and would like some feedback from anyone who is familiar with these units. How much wattage do you think I should go with? I'll most likely be running only one thing at a time maybe two, such as a buffer and halogen lighting. Any suggestions?

Would you be using a vacuum, extractor or anything? What about a water bucket heater, or a space heater? Anyhow, I'd say 2000watts plus for minimal things.

I too am looking for a generator for a mobile business and all my research and asking has led me to believe that 3000W is minimum for my needs.

BTW, I really want an eu3000is but its really expensive. I found one used on craiglist and if its available I'll be picking it up. If not, I'm going to settle on something cheaper.

Figure out what you'll be running and how many watts you will need and if you'll be running combinations. Having some overhead is good. I use a 2450 watt (max) generator which handles everything just fine. Get the best quality generator your budget will allow that has enough watts and meets any space requirements.

I will be using a vacuum and extractor. I just purchased a Ridgid WD4050 wet/dry vac today plus the 20' upgraded hose (orange). No water bucket heater or space heaters needed here in Florida, thank God.

My main concern is how much wattage extractors normally require to operate at peak efficiency. Anybody have any idea? Would I need a generator equipped with a 120V and 240V circuit?

You are going to need to narrow down your selection of extractors to a few, then look to see which requires the largest capacity. Double it and you have the load rating for the generator you are looking to buy. My Air Compressor trips my generator occasionally whereas my extractor doesn't come close. Most quality generators over a few thousand watts have both 120/240V connectors.

What kind of air compressor and generator are you using if you don't mind me asking?

GIVE ME AMPS!!

I have a Honda 3500 with a max of 28 amps.

We run a huge Mytee 1007 off it as well as buffers and vacuums at the same time.

Thanks for the info! :)

Superior Fine,

Which Honda 3500 do you have? Is it the EG series?
