Honda EU Generators - Are Gas Fumes an Issue?

Getting ready to purchase a Honda EU2000i generator. I detail out of a wagon that's also my personal vehicle. I don't plan on using it that much as I always ask that power be provided. But, just in case, anyone have problems with fumes or a gas smell when driving around?



I won't run it in the wagon, just afterwards when detailing is done, is the smell strong?

Not much at all! As long as you leave the door open while it's running there won't be a problem.

I plan on pulling it out while it's running and leaving it out 'til the detailing is done. I only do 1 detail a day right now (full-time student), so afterwards it'll sit in the garage.

The only time I ever had a problem with gas fumes from a generator is when a generator was left in a van for a couple weeks. I guess the heat caused some expansion or something and the van smelled like gas when we opened it up.

I wouldn't worry about it. Mine is in the garage year around and I have not had problems, heck I store it right next to 3 gallons of gas! These unit are small and highly prized on thieves lists so be careful!
