Did my Uncle CRV today. This is a 15 month old car with tons of heavy waterspot and scratches. Basically he never take care of the exterior. The detail took me 7 hours.



I decided to use Klasse AIO and P21s because i had good results with them before.



These are the steps:



1) Wash

2) Clayed

3) Wash

4) Use 3M Perfect IT rubbing compound medium with Yellow pad

5) Klasse AIO

6) Top it off with P21S

This is a picture of the reflection. Note that i rotate the picture so that the wordings can be read. Hehe, this picture give the impression that the hood is transparent and the picture was taken from under it.

Nice job,good reflection shots!Your Uncle must be happy :D now do you think it will stay that way and did you teach him a little on how to keep it looking that way.
 
All of it was done with a PC with speed sets at 5. Klasse was applied with 100% cotton application ( I'll be upgrading to microfiber soon) and buff with CBT towels.



The rubbing compound leaves a very dull and hazy finish that took me 2 swipe of AIO to clean it up. The 1st swipe was able to remove 90% of the haze, the 2nd swipe leaves the hood shiny.
 
Sometimes on cars with soft paints or some black/red finishes I use AIO on PC with polishing pad as a very light SMR. Its the abrasive of the foam pad doing the abrading with the AIO as a lubricant and cleaner. I work over the area with a bit of force and it seams to give the finish an extra refinment.



On some single stage finishes that are very hard to get perfect ie Porche, and some clear coat finishs as well some repaints.

50/50 alcohol water solution wasn't able to remove the hazing and the dull finish. I really need to use lots of AIO (about 1.5 - 2 ounce worth for the whole car) and really rub it in, not like the usual way where thin is better. But the finish was a lot better compare to using 3m SMR with a PC and a white pad.



Btw, I have questions for you other detailers.



1) What do you use to clean the dirty built up around the car logo / model number. Eg around the word "Accord". Those places are really really tough. I tried using a toothbrush with AIO and that dont do any good.



2) Sometimes i get really really dirty tires. I tried Westley Tire Cleaner ( I know thats not exactly the best choice), scrub it. After the tire was dry, the tire does not look clean. Theres some sort of brown patches all around the tires. I tried Z16 tire dressing and it did not do much help. Can anybody tell me what i did wrong?
