Home Depot Pressure Washer?

Couple of questions, I wanted to get a pressure washer and Home Depot has some for a decent price that are electric.

I don't care if its crappy and breaks after a week because I will have an extended warranty.

The pressure washers seem to come with soap compartments already in them to mix.

What is the advantage of buying a foam cannon attachment as opposed to just using the built in soap mixing function?

Also, what PSI is optimum for car washing, and what PSI is too dangerous for car washing?

Thanks!

A good foamer will outperform the built in soap spray that powerwasher will spit out.

Optimal PSI (combined with the right nozzle/tip) for me is around 1800 psi. Anything above that (depending on *how* it's coming out) could cause damage.

You should care if it breaks within a week - time lost in replacing it, what if you are in the middle of a job -- what if they are out of stock? A little understatement in my opinion though.

Is the warranty a same day in store replacement warranty according to the fine print? If so, that seems like a deal. I'm just a hobbyist so I use a PW probably 20-30 times a year for an hour or so at a time. I've never had a residential electric PW last longer than two years. They'll either have severe leaks or something electrical or mechanical will break. After 4 or 5, I bought an AR Blue 610, which is still too new to say if it was worth it.

Having gone through a bunch of unreliable pressurewashers, I'll never again own one that I can't depend on. Even for a non-Pro, having a piece of equipment die in the middle of a job is just not how I go through life.

Dan- You're *still* saying that is too new to pass judgment ont?!? Seems to be lasting a lot longer than any of my Kärchers ever did! IF not for the overspary/croweded shop issue I would've bought myself one by now.

I've been happy with an 1800 PSI electric unit. Mine came with a high pressure wand attachment that I would never use on a vehicle (only on concrete). I just use the standard wand attachment. I get three years of hard spring/summer/autumn use out of each unit.
