1. How did you wind up at Autopia?

2. What do you like most about detailing?
Satisfaction of having a beautiful car that I was able to do myself.
3. What are your favorite products/processes and why?
I really don't have many that I use explicitly. That's why I decided to join. Ask some questions and get some good answers from people with experience.
4. What's your dream car and why?
In the last 15 years I have owned about 30+ cars. None of them have the same allure as my first car and surprisingly it is still my daily driver. My '72 VW Beetle
5. What's the best thing you learned on Autopia?
There's more to cleaning and waxing your car than buying what ever is on sale at AutoZone or Checkers..
6. What are some of your other hobbies and interests?
My family, video games and cruising with fellow car enthusiasts
7. Do you have any pets? If so, types, names, pics.
We have 2 dogs (Beaux and Harley), 2 cats (Dookie and Bucket), and 2 turtles (Leonard and Sheldon) Sorry, no pics.
8. Name three secret techniques that you think you should share to fellow Autopians.
I don't have any. Sorry.
9. Where are you from and where do you live now?
Born and raised in Arizona. Living in Tucson now though.
10. What was you first car and what got you interested in keeping cars perfect?
1972 VW Beetle. Now that she is getting to be a looker I want to keep her finish looking beautiful.
11. What motivates you to detail?
Discipline and a zen like atmosphere of good music and alone time with the car
12. Would you ever pay someone else to detail your car?
I don't really want to. I enjoy making her shine too much!
13. Does detailing run in the family at all, or are you the only normal one?
Sadly it does not.
14. What is your favorite part about detailing?
Its relaxing and peaceful.
15. If detailing is a hobby for you, would you like to do it full time, or do you feel that it would take the fun out of it?
I wouldn't mind doing it full time. Being able to get my hands on all those beautiful curves... Wow!
I only have a pic or two of the bug.. here she is!
She did have some really bad swirls and such. She was repainted almost 10 years ago and sat in a garage. Sounds like a great time right? Not really. It went from my first car to a project I helped my mother with. After being painted the poor car sat unloved since 1998 until over a year ago. The bug had all sorts of things piled on her and around her. Up until last week I figured the swirls were there to stay. I bought and tried a Meguiar's Swirl remover product and it made the most amazing difference. Followed up with an old bottle of Meguiar's Tech Wax 2.0 and she looked better. I understand these probably aren't the BEST products in the world for what I would like to accomplish but that's why I came by. I would love to get an even better finish on her. Can anyone help change the errors of my ways????? Thanks in advance!
