Highboy and 1955 Thunderbird details

First, the Highboy. It was originally owned by the current owner's best friend who put almost $120k into it. Tube frame, IRS, full leather interior, ZZ430 crate engine, etc. First class job all the way. Anyway, the guy was out driving in his neighborhood and somehow flipped the car and he was killed. His widow was selling the car at the Barrett show a few years ago and it was pushed way back towards the end of the auction and failed to make it's reserve, so the guy who owns it now bought it from her. He refuses to drive the car, saying it is inherently unsafe and he wants a toy that he can actually drive.

The paint was in pretty good shape, so I used Poorboy's SSR1 swirl remover, and Clearkote's Vanilla Moose and Carnauba Moose Wax.

The Thunderbird was a bit more involved. There were some minor interior stains because this one is a driver, plus whoever buffed the car after the paint job left a lot of swirls in the paint.

Here is a before shot of the buffer marks and swirls.

This is after using Meguiars Dual Action Cleaner/Polish and Swirl Free Polish. At this point the swirls are about 95% gone and paint clarity and depth are much improved.

This is a shot down the side of the T Bird after using DACP and SFP and then finishing with Clearkote's Vanilla Moose and Carnauba Moose Wax:

Anyway great work, Scott you rule:wavey

Scott......Oh yeah! Some very nice work there. By the looks of the first pic you must have started very early as the sun looks as if its just rising ?

Great work, as always of course :)

Scott, great job. I just got my Carnuba Moose Wax and cant wait to try it out. I have also purchased because of your posts, Winners Choice. I just put on the same tires as the Highboy. Toyos. My truck now rides like a Cadillac and corners like a Vette. I put Armorall on them and it attracts dirt. Do you know of a product that I can spray on that is not greasy and attract dirt? How is the Clearkote Tire Product?

Anthony-actually, I took most of the pics (whole car shots, anyway) as I was finishing up...at almost 5 PM in the afternoon, about 30 minutes before sunset. I spent most of the day there.

Horseman2475-if you use those Eagle tire swipes to apply tire dressing, you will get a more consistant and satiny look to your tires with minimal dust attraction. Clearkote's Tire Dressing is very good and lasts a long time but it is not cost effective when you go through as much dressing each week as I do. For my own car, it's great because I only have to use it once every 3 weeks or so.
