High-Mileage Legend Coupe 6-speed

Six-Speeder
Thought I'd share some current pictures of my old Legend. It's a 1994 LS coupe 6-speed. I've had it for almost four years and I've personally put over 140,000 miles on it.

The current odometer reading is:

The car is still on its original paint and drivetrain. The hood and roof show some clear coat clouding, the side moldings have been dinged a few times, front end is pitted (I drove the car to Alaska and back in May), but overall condition is pretty good considering the age and mileage.

I use all Poorboys. I love the Natty's white paste wax, and I touch up the car after every wash with Spray and Gloss. Tires and engine get Bold and Bright, while the interior gets treated to Leather Care and Natural Look. They are the best products I've found for keeping the car looking its best!

Not a good interior pic, but you get the idea. I have a set of color-matched new factory floor mats, but they only get used for special occasions.

Thanks for all the tips; I love to learn more about the art of detailing.

Your looks great for the miles! Love those wheels.

I have over 172k on my white 91 legend coupe. I just gave her a good polishing today with some menzerna. Tomorrow she gets Z2pro.

I bought it last Oct, one owner w/ 161k miles then. Its a 5 speed.

Nice background. Where is it?

Thanks guys! I appreciate the feedback.

The pics were all taken in my hometown of St. George, Utah -- about 1.5 hours northeast of Las Vegas, NV. I am currently living in Phoenix attending grad school, however.

I checked out your gallery -- she looks great! The G2 coupes are getting more rare every day. Are you a member of the acura-legend.com forums?

Thanks! I was looking for a type II 6sp, but could not pass up the price on this one. Should be looking better after I get it done today. The previous owner had it repainted and leather installed (it was a base cloth interior) back in '97. The drivers seat is on the worn side, but the rest of the interior is pretty good. I am over on the legend forum somewhat.

Thanks! Yeah, I'm in the dealership like clockwork for oil changes but the car has been super reliable throughout the years. I've covered about 25 of the states in this car and never been left stranded.

It's a fun place to live. Summer's hot and long, but we get tons of sunshine and it makes it easy to keep the car clean. At best, it usually takes just a short weekly short rinse-off to keep the dust at bay.

Gotta wonder how much worse off it would be if you haven't taken such wonderful care

I hear ya. There are plenty of abused Legends on the road, and I cringe every time I see one. It was a $42k car in 1994; I sometimes wonder why people don't take care of them accordingly.

Post pics! I only saw one pic of your Legend in your gallery... Would love to get a better look.

I honestley would never believe that was a 240000 mile car.

Thanks Ben! That's my goal... to surpass 300k+ in a car that looks like <100k. So far so good! :)

Wow your car looks amazing for the mileage...Great photography skills as well

Thanks all. I'm trying to learn from the skills of those on this site. Everyone's pictures are amazing. It's really tough to capture a shine on a beige ("desert mist") car, but I tried.

Uh, I have lived in Phoenix all my life. It used to be a great place to live. All the growth has wreaked havoc though. Freeways can't handle the traffic, homes are overpriced and property crime is the highest in the nation.

Virginia is beautiful.

====================

As for the Legend, impressive. Especially if it is enduring the Phoenix heat with all those miles on it.

Nice DOF in the gearshift pic!

Yuck!

Have you ever visited?

I love the west. Yes we are moving away from this area.

Traffic? I guarantee you it is much worse here. Definately the very worst drivers I have ever seen are in Virginia.

I have not been to Fairfax---I spent a summer in Reston about 10 years ago.

I like green---not a lot of green in Phoenix, forest is about 100 miles north.
