I just bought some Light Power Cut Leveler to try because it seemed to get good reviews here. Reading the label it says to use Prep Wash or Prep Solve after using and before applying sealer or wax.

My question is: Is it really necessary to use anything before applying a sealer? PB's, 4*, and Menzerna don't require anything other than just wiping it off before applying a LSP.

If it does require washing off can I just use something I've already got rather than buying something else -- just to use it? Thanks.

Sounds like the Prep Solv ( Prep-All available from Wal Mart should be an equivalent) is recommended because traces of the product itself can still be left behind or whatever oils/other ingredients left on the surface may interfere with LSP bonding.

I generally use this and/or the isopropyl alcohol mix before hand any way to reveal whatever marring may still be left behind. I go ahead and continue to polish, if necessary, until I see none remaining.
