I`m jimbomac. I own a 2005 Toyota Sequoia SR5. It has the factory running boards. I am having trouble keeping the rubber grip black. It seems like two days after I treat them, they look gray again.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Jimbomac

Probably best to go with solution finish but will need some good prep work first if they have had many many products on them to try to make them look good up till now

Dlux and C4 will work as well but again much prep needed. Some plastic likes different products more than others.

At risk of sounding like an amateur (which I am). Other than soap and water, what kind of prep work would needed to restore the exterior rubber before I use any of the products that have been mentioned in this thread?

I would say a wax remover from mckeeys and a small brush gently like a med toothbrush time consuming but you get into areas that bigger brushes can’t without damaging other areas then rewatch with a soap that doesn’t have a wax or shine booster in it

Adams just came out with a new trim restore. They have a kit that comes with the prep too. It’s new I have not tried it but most of Adam’s things are good. Not sold here but you can get it directly from them
