Z1 and Z2 are drying as we speak in heated garage (around 60 degrees in there). Will wait an hour before removing...

Woo-Hoo!!! :bounce

Do the finger test when it's time to remove it. Wipe you finger on a pannel, if it wipes clean it's time to remove it. It if does not wipe clean, let it dry a little longer. :up :up

Thanks SL... will do the finger test. :up

Z was really easy to use... even with Z1. I plan to get some ZFX soon. I borrowed the Z1 and Z2 from my salesman because my Z order has not arrived yet and I picked up my new car today. Unfortunately, he did not have any Z6  so I'll have to wait until my order comes in to put on a second coat.

Looking forward to it!!! :up :up :up

Alan, you're going to like the Zaino quite a bit. Pretty good product, especially for light colored finishes. Also sounds like your Zaino distributor is a pretty cool guy to lend you products.

Don: Not distributor... salesman! Yes, he's way cool. If anyone in CT is considering a BMW, talk to Lawrence at County Line. He's the best! And tell him I sent you so he'll continue to give me Zaino!!! :D :up

about the Z on your steel blue BMW and I think Detailking's is the color you are refering too.If that is the case take a look at his it is very nice looking.Whenyou get a few more coats on you will be O so happy with the results. This is my alpine green Nissan crew cab with about 5 coats and it gets better IMHO after Z has been on about a week or so.Take care and happy Zing:D

Thanks Todd... looking forward to adding some more coats as soon as my Z order comes in.

I'm actually thinking of stripping the Blitz off my wife's car and Z'ing it. We used IHG on it before the Blitz. It looks not so great... there are a lot of water spots that the IHG did not get rid of. I think I'll Dawn wash it, then PPCL then Z5 it. It's sort of a beige color and I think it will respond well to Z.

Sound like a good plan? :)

Happy holidays everyone and thanks for all the great advice :up

Hey guys/gals, got into polishing metal a few years back, have a black car.... so you know I thought I should learn how to polish it too.

Right now Im looking at purchasing the Blackfire Shine Kit with polish and paint protection. Already have a PC, but not pads or backing plate yet...

Will start a thread on my first attempt real soon....

Any preference on masking tape? who's got it for cheap.

Welcome grahamlight to Truth In Detailing. I been using the 3M Masking tape or the Meguiar's masking tape that we carry. Any questions you are very welcome to call me at PAC and we can go over your need in polishes and pads for your PC..................Angelo

Welcome to TruthInDetailing Graham. Painters tape is high everywhere. Hope to see u around :ar!

Hi Graham

Welcome! i use 3M tape also but am going to try the meguires .

Dont buy real cheap making tape ,it can leave lots of glue residue thats hard to clean up esp in the hot summer weather. Or it may not stick well.
